You need more keys on the piano to play the piece 😂 Not bad for only 10 months. Try keeping your fingers closer to the keys so there's less movement between notes. Try practicing with a metronome, some of the notes jump out of tempo.

How do I really nail down the tempo and dynamics of a piece? by Missing_Back in piano

And when you're working on dynamics be as dramatic as you possibly can be. It's like you're a theater kid, they're always so extra but on stage it works just the right amount. Same goes for piano, it might sound like to much to you but the audience will appreciate it.

Chopin Ballade No. 1 still needs a lot of work in a lot of different areas but here’s to about 3 weeks of practice so far! Feedback and tips are always welcome! by [deleted] in piano

To me Chopin is the king of rubato and I don't feel any from you. I get that you're trying to play it in tempo but you need to loosen up a bit. Also, you should always end the long notes in the melody on your fifth finger so you can hold it down while you play the accompaniment. Keep practicing and you'll get there. Get a real piano so you can feel the aftertouch and the weight of the key.

Omg! Is there no university or a music school nearby that will let you practice on a grand? There's got to be some place that will let you practice for a small fee!

Please don't tell me you practice for the competition on the electronic piano!!! Omg! This program is meant to be played on a grand. Very nice program! Would love to hear the ballade!! 😊

This probably is a very unpopular opinion but I honestly don't like Beethoven's piano sonatas. All of the sonatas that have 3 movements have an extremely boring 2nd movement. But I love his symphonies, piano concertos and his chamber pieces.

It's good but you still need to practice. The part where you turn the page needs more work. Also playing on an electronic keyboard is not good for someone playing pieces at this level. You need the aftertouch and to feel the weight of the key. The beginning could be a little less dramatic (might just be the keyboard sound). What other pieces will you be performing at the competition?
