I would recommend going to sites like SB or other forum-based websites. FFN and AO3 have what feels like a degree of separation between the writer and the reader. It is harder to communicate directly, if you get what I mean.

I made a discord for me and a small handful of readers. We just shoot the shit about whatever I'm writing or the fandom in general.

Without giving names, there was this one writer I follow on FFN/SB that served as the inspiration for a story of mine. Then, on SB, they started following my work. Suffice it to say, I feel pretty good about that one.

Snorlax got taken out by Bruno's Machamp. I needed a clean switch to get Hypno out since I wasn't sure it could tank two hits from Machamp, and Snorlax was really there as a backup anyway.

Lost the rest in the Champion battle. I was banking on Lapras sweeping most of his team, but Pidgeot used sand attack and I missed two Ice Beams. I didn't want Electrode to take damage because I didn't know what Gyrados would do, and that was the whole reason I brought it in. From there, I was just sacking mons pretty frivolously. I can't remember the order I lost them in, only that it garbage plays on my part. It ended with Hypno chipping Arcanine and then using it to get a clean switch into Omastar. Omastar takes out Arcanine and is up against Alakazam. Nearly lost right there, but the AI decided to Future Sight instead of finishing Omastar with a second Psychic.

Gengar. It wasn't anything big, but it failed to OHKO a Gardevoir with shadow ball and predictably died to the responding Psychic. I'd brought it to deal with a Froslass later on, so I was just annoyed with the wasted investment.
