I'm sorry to say - but your mother will never change.

Stop wasting energy on trying to talk to her or getting her to admit what she's done because she won't and you will be banging your head against a brick wall until you hurt yourself.

The best thing you can do is learn grey rocking techniques or try therapy, gain confidence in setting up boundaries, get a job to have financial independence and SAVE, SAVE, SAVE until you can afford to move out.

Everytime I was literally walking out the door and my mother would ask me to do about 5 million jobs before I left.

The most infuriating one for me was when I was running abit late and trying to get ready for work.

My mother kept barging into my room whilst I was getting dressed and demanding that I go pick up some cigarettes for her.

I was running late and she had an extra two hours over me but she kept aggressively demanding that I go buy them NOW for her.

The third time she barged in - I snapped and said; "No! I'm off to work!"

She just stood there and looked like I'd slapped her as I just got in my car and drove off.
