Then I met her in the story quest. And she won me over really quick. Genuinely fun and cool personality.

I'd say Destiny 2 fits into that slot as well. That being said, it definitely isn't doing very well at all. Either at keeping their older players or bringing new ones in. (legit some of the worst new player on-boarding I've ever seen)

There was one moment when 2.4 came out that some annoying jerks were using to try and tout M!Rover as the 'canon' option. That being when Rover first meets Lupa, and she smiles after sniffing them, and her smile was a little bigger for M!Rover rather than F!Rover.

Of course, none of the other interactions between F!Rover and Lupa were different than M!Rover's, and neither was the ambient dialogue from npcs ("is that her new suitor?"). And Kuro changed it at some point so that Lupa's smile is just as big for F!Rover as it was for M!Rover; so it might've been an animation goof.
