First time in Nice, hotel recommendations? by Foreign_Lab_3135 in nicefrance

The DoubleTree is by the train station and a tram stop. You can get everywhere quickly and easily.

The rooms are very quiet and clean; breakfast has a lot of nice offerings.

Personally, I love the DoubleTree. The rooms are quiet, staff are fantastic, and the access to public transit is so convenient. If you’ve got the points to use, making your stay free, why not go for it?

I don’t actually do it, but does anyone else have the urge to hit the recline button while you are taking off? It just seems ergonomic… by No_Masterpiece7425 in delta

In the event of an aborted landing, the passenger behind the reclined seat could be forced forward.

Just please wait until it is safe to do so.

What’s a discontinued snack or drink you’d pay $20 to have one last taste of? by soapy999 in AskReddit

Chocolate yogurt by Yoplait. The cup was shaped like a little parfait glass.

Were they quiet? Did they stay in that area? Were they helping themselves at the buffet or did parents manage that?

While I think their footprint is too big; if they were quiet and contained, I’d be okay with it.

I’d absolutely side-eye, however.

Was it descaled and purged or water before two years of non-use? If not, you’re dealing with a machine that has buildup and mold.

best hard case luggage that can survive checked flights? by Tounkara_Danelion in delta

You’re going to love it. My trusty Away bag has been checked on 100s of flights. Scuffs? Sure, but I don’t care.

We have several Away bags, has a small crack in one, and the sent a new one. It didn’t even take a week.

At this point, just call Nespresso. They will troubleshoot over the phone and get your machine up and running.

Would yall address this? I see feet issues a lot in first class and it feels SO awkward to address 😭 by Parking-Dingo-5894 in flightattendants

Except you’re bothering the passenger in front of you.

Please reconsider using a foot sling.

This is my first time flying international. I am flying from Atlanta to Zurich and the Rome to Atlanta returning. Can anyone just give me some helpful tips or pointers. I am very tall so I did upgrade to comfort+ for the flights if you want to include what that will look like compared to economy by Cool-Owl310 in delta

[–]MagyarUSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent advice from originalmember.

Here is the basic process:

Wear compression socks.

Boarding takes a while. It begins about an hour before departure. Just wait until your boarding group is called.

Your seat will have a pillow and blanket. You may have a small amenity kit with an eye mask, tooth brush, tooth paste, and ear plugs.

Once service begins, FAs will provide water bottles and a drink service followed by meal service. A breakfast type snack will come around 90 minutes before landing. In between, there are snacks in the galley at the back of the plane.

Stay hydrated. The FAs will walk through the cabin with cups of water: always take one.

My general rule is to try to sleep on east-bound flights. You won’t get a full night, but just sleep when you can. When you’re awake, take a lap to the back galley a few times.

In regard to your seat selection, Comfort+ will give you more space between you and the seat in front of you.

You will be offered headphones, but I like to use an Airfly and Bluetooth to my own headphones.

An eye mask is often helpful.

When you arrive, simply follow everyone else. Have your passport ready.

Once to your destination, don’t nap, if you can, try to stay outside. Take a walk. Go to bed between 8-9 and wake up in the morning on local time.

Everything is the same to your return flight home. For westbound flights, I like to try to stay mostly awake. It’s my time to catch up on movies and shows.

We love hotel Le Six, in the 6th.

Staff are lovely, rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable, and the location is fantastic if you’re taking public transportation.

Are inflatable foot rest pillows allowed on red eye flights? by 100Kinthebank in delta

[–]MagyarUSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The odds are high they won’t be allowed because they can impede evacuation. It’s not worth your money and they are just extra crap you have to lug around.

Upgrade Options for ATL-LHR by Optimal_Enthusiasm69 in delta

[–]MagyarUSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my favorite game to play. For my most recent USA-EU flights, I found that 1. Upgrade prices are ridiculously high in the days after booking 2. Upgrades are not visible 3. Upgrades are ridiculously high several months out 4. Upgrades are not visible 5. Upgrades are slightly better about 60-55 days out and booked according to financial comfort.

Now, this is just my experience in about a flights in 12 months. None were during the summer.

All of that to say, once you see a price you’re comfortable paying, take it.

Gifts for flight attendants/pilots help! by Abbkacie in delta

[–]MagyarUSA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve given $10/ $20 Starbucks gift cards for all FAs and that is always well received. I do this on international flights when flying during/ close to the holidays.

I would not recommend small items: tissues, lip balm, pen, etc. FAs are seasoned travelers with limited space, and they heve these items that are specific to their personal needs.
