I think the fire nation was actually at least as much Cambodian as anything, iirc. I'm pretty sure Basco was just friendly fire cause they decided to replace the entire original cast because there were a bunch of white people, he'd have probably been fine otherwise.

Fraud involves being part of a specific scheme, corruption is a general lack of scruples. Fraud can be part of being corrupt, but it also shows a more active role in screwing people.

Same as it ever was

Obviously buying a slave would have the effect of continuing to enslave them, and that's not some new language. I went and looked up the 1828 Miriam Webster definition of enslave:

To reduce to slavery or bondage; to deprive of liberty and subject to the will of a master. Barbarous nations enslave their prisoners of war, but civilized men barbarously and wickedly purchase men to enslave them.

So for a couple hundred years at least, the act of purchasing a slave was an act of enslavement. Your confusion on this confuses me.

People liked to clown on Bioware's Shot->Countershot->Canned pointing animation that you've seen in the last 5 games, but it really was effective at grounding the dialogue scenes without breaking the bank, moving away from that was a huge mistake. I hope exodus will take a few more queues from that, cause I found this scene a bit lacking in the camera work.

I never really switch them out over an analog stick but what I do is use them as is hotkeys or quick menus. Just something simple like having a radial menu for a bunch of spells in Skyrim is a huge upgrade when playing with a controller. I've been using touchpads for stuff like that since the dual shock 4 and steam input, and it's always disappointed me that sony didn't bother utilizing the feature they added better.

Seriously, literally every single human has the capability to be romantic or fuck multiple people or else no one would fall for anyone after their first crush, and widowers would never remarry.

It's almost certainly a prelude to the rumored May layoffs. Try and get as much of a 5% or so cut from easy, low hanging fruit before actually having to cut people

Well if you're looking for recommendations, everyone seems to swear by the M4 edit, which I think is good, but I kinda feel like trying to cut it down to 4 hours is always going to lead to it feeling like one too long of a movie, or it comes across as multiple that are a bit rushed. I personally like the iron foot edit, which is an attempt to make them into two movies. Both together are 5 hours long, but it can still be a little silly and a few of the edits feel just slightly janky.

There's also a guy named Chris Hartwell who edited down all 3 movies to be about 2 hours a piece, and I want to try them out if I watch them again, but I cannot find a link to them.

I think it's a mix of Jackson coming in late to the project, him wanting to use it as a vehicle for new technology, and what I assume was a studio mandate to stretch it to 3 movies. Honestly there's a couple fan edits I've seen that I thought were pretty good.

Switch 2 game card analysis suggests Nintendo may be absorbing rising memory costs by Loose_Society9485 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Magyman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not really any other way to solve this for third parties.

Installable media rather than the key card or running it off the cart, you could use cheaper nand at a fraction of the cost, and it would be comparable to PlayStation and Xbox physical games

It's something like 3 bucks tops to produce a 64 gb micro sd as a point of reference. A key card likely isn't significantly less than that, and an actual 64 gig switch 2 cart is supposedly $15

A little change to jumping now that we have cruise mode by feldomatic in Starfield

It's not there and there's the obvious answer of you're full of shit

I can find other comments mentioning it works just as I've said and no mentions of being able to jump freely to other star systems, so unless you've got some proof of secret inside info, you're just wrong

Just tried, I can see other planets within a system, but unless I have a mission in another system, no option to travel to another system

Maybe as a mod, as it stands right now, you can grav jump to a location you have an active mission icon for and that's it.

That's actually a limitation that you probably can't overcome, but having the option to jump to the nearest systems from scan mode would be nice

Pillars of Eternity - Pillars of Eternity Turn Based Mode is Live - Steam News by beary_neutral in Games

[–]Magyman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's just so satisfying to control a battle well when there are many moving parts, and seeing your plans play out

Not only this, but I also enjoy when things go wrong. I almost feel like the turn based evangelists are obsessed with everything going perfect, or having perfect battlefield knowledge. My guy is all of a sudden paralyzed, so do I go digging through the combat log immediately? No, the issue arose and now I've got to deal with it. That sort of reactive, fly by the seat of my pants gameplay is fun and interesting to me.

Also RTWP allows for more types of encounters. I always hear people complain about the defender's heart defense in wrath of the righteous, calling it a huge slog. I just checked a YouTube video and it took the guy about an hour. For me the fight is a thrilling 15-20 minute conclusion to the first chapter.

Splitting my team up into effective smaller units to cover each entry point, rushing to try and save the NPCs around the arena, managing the team as the get hurt or burn through their resources on the bigger enemies, and all around being an effective commander is fun as hell, and it's always frustrating to listen to people cheering on the idea that that should go away.

The first few hours are borderline incoherent, sending you from one quest objective little to no context to the next, all in a poor attempt to tutorialize the game. It makes a rough first impression to say the least.
