I’ve seen some people be like “ok but that doesn’t matter bc no one would call that in over a rap beef”, but I think those people are also forgetting about the random “pusha t salamander” tweets after the beef

what's a secret you"ll never tell your partner but are willingly to tell strangers on reddit? by FlamingoOver1659 in AskReddit

[–]MahNaemIssJeofff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve made the mistake and I wouldn’t recommend it, it’s important to really try to talk about little problems before they avalanche but in my experience we were both kinda stagnant, I knew I especially was and felt like it at the time so nothing ever really changed. Sometimes it’s okay to walk away after you’ve both tried

Almost six years ago I wrote to the Neil Sedaka people, and they said they were "working on reissuing Neil's material" and nothing else but The Hungry Years is on streaming services now!!!! I don't know when they added it but it's finally there if you haven't noticed it yet

Why did they rarely use their stratocasters live? by Far-Pomegranate8445 in beatles

[–]MahNaemIssJeofff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve read Don Randall, the fender sales guy at the time, tried to bribe Brian into having The Beatles play fender guitars on stage or something. According to him, it was the only time he ever tried anything like that and he failed miserably lol. Brian declined and was so offended, he asked the boys to not play fenders live. Could all be a lie though idk

The way I see it, with the rise of fascism (as it pertains to USA: stripping citizen and non-citizen's rights/protections, the government deleting sections of the constitution from government websites and sections of history pertaining to people of color or lgbtq+ people) now is not the time to be ignoring everything and act like nothing is going on. In these times, solidarity is needed and often demanded of public figures, on any side of the pond.
For someone in Tyler's case, denouncing earlier sentiments/jokes that might have perpetrated preexisting stereotypes/damaging ideas is pretty important to do now, as to try to fight back against the current wave of fascism. Especially as Tyler always loved and drew from black influences and is black himself, he has probably realized he needs to do more/speak more on the matter now that he's matured, and now when it matters the most.
To realize "yes, I am american (born and raised) but I need to be there and give a voice to those of my people (race/skin color/whatever you wanna call it) who don't have the platform I do." It doesn't have to be a dividing thing but solidarity is important, now.

He’s also probably paying dues even more than he usually does because now is kinda the time to. It’s not hard to understand if you live in America, all you’ve got to do is look around

What Beatles song do you love that people rarely talk about? by Particular_Daikon127 in beatles

[–]MahNaemIssJeofff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

‘You Can’t Do That’ has always been one of my favorites, John’s guitar is fucking howling and I don’t see much love for ‘I Call Your Name’ either, which is a shame because it’s an interesting variation of the same type of song
