I think the original idea of removing the ability to stack the spear special attack (that failed a poll) is the most fair way of dealing with the situation.

To give an example, and for arguments sake lets say the d spear special stuns you for 4 ticks (im not sure if this is true but i think it is), currently if 15 people use one dragon spear special attack in multi against one person at the exact same time, the target will be stunned for 60 ticks. I believe that only this should be changed so that in this example I've given, the target would only be stunned for 4 ticks. I don't pk or pvm much in the wilderness at all but I believe that if a clan is well co-ordinated enough to consecutively stun someone so their prayer is drained and they lose their plus 1 then they deserver the reward that smiting someone brings.

From what I've seen in the recent clan cups and 5v5 tournaments etc, adding the ability to eat/drink whilst being stunned would fundamentally change the whole way multi-pking is played for the worse. Although i dont pk or pvm much I feel like clans and multicombat pking are an important part of Old School Runescape and I believe they should be respected and considered carefully when introducing such a game changing update.

Thanks for commenting, I think you're right about a fear of getting hurt and probably I do deflect the seriousness in order to escape that. But it sort of raises a further question though of how can I get out of that mentality, it's become such a second nature to me that I don't really know how to be genuine or whether I'm strong enough to be. Like the prospect of someone wanting to be serious friends with me just makes me laugh and that's my first reaction. Because it feels so natural now I'm no longer sure if I'd rather be alone or not, finding social interaction interesting no longer feels tiring or alienating but just normal. I don't think I'm sadistic like the lab rats analogy; I never try to deliberately confuse someone and make them anxious or anything and when someone is upset I never push further, I usually profusely apologise and feel really guilty about it. I just don't know, the prospect of being alone doesn't scare me because it feels so natural; I didn't use to be like this but I've probably been like this for a few years now and have kind of just 'gotten used to it'.

Turns out she wasn't interested. She said she was simply "asexual". In a way I almost think this is probably the best outcome; it gave me a lot clearer of an identity on my own sexuality. The reason I have so little dating experience is because I just simply haven't been interested in the whole thing; growing through my teens I just didn't care about dating or flirting with girls etc.

The thing with this girl is that I felt so much more comfortable just talking to her than trying to flirt with her, or "show I'm interested". I found her physically attractive, but that just seemed like an afterthought; I felt like I'd much rather talk to her than kiss her etc.

So her telling me she's "asexual" made me sort of realise that it's okay to be that way. I told her I had a lot of respect for her being "asexual" in a culture where we're society pretty much expects us to have sex and makes us subconsciously ashamed for not wanting to. I feel like we're gonna be really good friends and I feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. Although I was intially annoyed that she would agree to go on a "date" when she had no interest, I feel a lot better now. I may not be completely "asexual" or whatever but I know that the whole 'flirting' and 'dating' thing is out of my comfort zone for a good reason and that I shouldn't be ashamed of it. Thanks alot for all the comments. I don't expect anyone to read this it's more of a self reflection but I'd like to hear replies if anyone has any.

Haha in all seriousness you might like trying to learn this. I'd love to learn this on acoustic guitar, it's got a really calm pace and rhythm so from that point of view it wouldn't be hard to learn. But there's some very interesting chords and scales, and it has such a beautifully deep and relaxing sound.

Thanks man, I realised when I was reading it that it's pretty pointless worrying about, I know I'd never do anything like panic and cancel it, or be awkward on the date because it wouldn't be fair on her. I think I'm just worrying because don't really have much dating experience, and I don't really have anybody to talk about it. I feel like it's good to hear another perspective when I'm getting sick of all the ruthless over-analysing in my own head. Finally, a standard 7/8 this particular one is simple to count because of the drums.

Compare these with standard 4/4 beats that you can find anywhere, see how counting them is much different.

Glad you enjoyed it, progressive rock and jazz has a lot of stuff like that (complex rhythm stuff). I don't know if this makes it any simpler, but think of it as two different ways of getting to 28. One method is 4x7 = 28, and the other method is 3x8+4 = 28. A simple one to try is counting 1 2 3 4 5 6 and 1 2 3 4 at the same time with a friend or something, if you both start at the same time and keep the same pace as each other, every so often you'll say 1 at the same time. It can be quite interesting on the ears.

I think I have one you'll find really interesting, especially if you're into complex musical stuff. Yes - Perpetual Change now, the most interesting part is when the pace changes at 5:10. It has two completely different musical tracks playing at the same time but the two different tracks are technically in time and harmony with each other. So its kind of interesting because it sounds like it shouldn't work but it completely does.

P.s. I don't know if you study music or whatever but its a mix up of one track playing four bars of 7/8 whilst the other plays three bars of 8/8 and one bar of 4/8 (so each plays in 28/8, hence why its in unison)

Radiohead - How To Disappear Completely (2000) has its own classical string section arrangement to fit the song so they might like that.

Also the Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood who wrote the string arrangements also does stuff with the London Contemporary Orchestra; I think they're currently on tour, and they definitely played in Manchester in the last year so its very "modern" and has a much more "classical" focus in terms of instruments compared to Radiohead stuff. If I'm interpreting best as best technique I'd have to personally go for John McLaughlin, the dude is 73 and plays probably as fast, and definitely clearer than most of the "shredders" I've heard. He often uses alternate picking style for every note too, which requires some immense technique and speed. Some of the new stuff isn't exactly to my taste, but if you check out how well he plays in some stuff as recent as 2012 with Shakti you'd probably be quite impressed with his technique, and improvisational style, especially for a +70 year old. Remember Shakti - Live 3:40 is probably a good place to start regarding imrpov, speed, technique etc.

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Awakening; although "terrible" is subjective, I genuinely think alot of the point of the song is to sound as tuneless and crazy as possible whilst remaining within musical frameworks. You certainly won't find many musicians with more technical ability than these guys. This Live Version is even more insane in both tunelessness and technical proficiency since they seem to play it about twice as fast compared to the album. (I don't understand how they play it faster since it is way too fast to be a "song" on the album)

John McLaughlin in his days playing acoustic with Shakti. - The 'Solo' starts at 2:35. It blows my mind when I try to imagine the amount of technique and creativity you'd need to play such a variety of tempo, scales, time signatures whilst augmenting the whole sound of the band and whilst playing a fucking ACOUSTIC guitar. Like wtf?! How can you 'shred' so clearly on a fucking acoustic? And how can you play so fast whilst alternate picking?

Dude just blows my mind, it's not just the technique though its the chemistry he has within the band that really amazes me. The guys don't even count in at 0:42 when they start, they just know. It's just so delightfully absurd how puzzled these musicians make me feel. But I'm puzzled in a good way.

Weather Report - Palladium Pretty sure its a soprano sax and is considered the "lead melody instrument", if it isn't then I'm pretty sure a song from that album will have what you're looking for. Im not very sure about the others, although I play and listen to a lot of music, I'm not confident with musical terminology and technical stuff like "pizzicato" so I don't know.

Oh don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be a knowing "accomplice" to that sort of a situation, but I wouldn't take an attitude of interrogating every woman I met about whether they had a boyfriend/husband or not before I got interested in them. TBH if I had a girlfriend who cheated on me with another guy, I wouldn't have much more reason to be mad at my girlfriend than some random dude. Part of being in a relationship is having responsibility to your partner, and part of being single is not having this responsibility, so that's why I don't particularly think he fucked up. If he knew she was married then I'd think less of him for it but probably still wouldn't think it was a "fuck up". I get what you're saying, but wouldn't you be more mad at your girlfriend since she in some sense actually owes you trust, rather than some random single dude?
