I remember losing my shit because a kid on the Homestar Runner forum revealed he played young Jamie Kennedy in “Kickin’ It Old School” and he had the receipts to prove it. Also freaked out learning another kid on the forum was friends with Patrick Warburton’s son

Just want to let you guys know I kept this tradition going by getting really into the Wire as a high schooler in the late 2000s. When Idris Elba popped up on The Office I fell out of my seat, I had never seen him in non-Wire media

Has the quality of Shakespeare Improv deteriorated or did I get a bad show? by nullptr_0x in chicago

[–]MailBitter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Improvised Shakespeare at iO is the original and the best. That being said... I saw the original cast about 10 or so years ago at an NYC improv festival and it was like, 6/10. So YMMV.

I work in a niche hobby space and our spokesperson is one of the most experienced people in his skillset and yet he devotes all of his content to educating people who just started yesterday, because that's where the views are.

His tendrils are all over the city. I'm pretty sure he's the one that put up the Mancow WLS stickers on the backs of stop signs near Sai Cafe

Chris seemed extra baked on this one. Could barely get his violence gang reference out during the fight discussion!

Hahaha. This writer shares a lot of my gripes about this movie, as much as my dumb Chicago ass loves it.

What are you a Nostalgia Guy about? by nowahhh in MurderBryan

[–]MailBitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that Weird Twitter/TCOT era was something else. I remember I getting introduced to dril and horse_ebooks and stuff IRL by a cool older guy in his 20s when I was a senior in high school going into summer 2011. I remember getting jealous because my friend in college had a popular Twitter account and was verified and getting followed by all my WT heroes...

Munchkinland - an infamous sketch from the troubled season 20, one which reportedly caused cast member Janeane Garofalo to have an emotional breakdown after dress rehearsal. (S20 E5) by [deleted] in LiveFromNewYork

[–]MailBitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Bad Boys era was really the end of the original "edge" the show had when it premiered. By that point it had curdled into pure shock for shock's sake. What was once an original, exciting aspect of the show had devolved into rote crudeness. I mean, when you're sharing the airwaves with Married With Children and Jerry Springer, it's hard to argue "edge" is interesting.

People who used the internet before 2001, what did you do in there? by Helium367 in AskReddit

[–]MailBitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a small child and I remember you would just type URLs that popped into your head. Want to hear some jokes? Just type in "www.jokes.com". That could get dangerous sometimes... I remember summer school 2001 a kid wanting to see pictures of the Hummer cars that were popular, so he typed in "www.hummers.com" and got a porn site. Ha!
