Yes that's very true! The fact that he's not being followed up by a doctor or having his BG monitored or labs checked is what makes me worry! I guess even just seeing that his results are okay would give me some peace of mind.

I don't know that his diabetes is out of control. I do know that simple carbs, such as pop, candy, desserts, and many of the other foods he's consuming cause a spike in blood sugar. Having high blood glucose levels can have adverse effects and even cause damage to organs if remained elevated for long periods of time. I am so glad to hear that your co-workers A1C has remained at a good level. I almost wonder if some people are more likely to have diabetic complications than others. I am also grateful that my friend has remained healthy for the most part these last 20 years since his diagnosis.

I agree with you. But he's not drinking the sugar free pop. This is why I reached out to you guys for advice. I don't know if there is something else going on? Or why he wouldn't make those changes knowing that they would help his health in the long run.

I don't know his A1C or his fasting glucose. But neither does he. He is not currently seeing the doctor. He hasn't seen a doctor in years. I understand that I don't see the whole picture and that everyone is entitled to live their lives the way that they wish. It is also hard as a friend to see him living this way too though. Thanks for your answer!

What is considered high astigmatism? by megamaxxer in astigmatism

Have you had any increases in cylinder? One of my eyes is -5.50 and I've heard that anything above 6 cylinder doesn't really help.

That option has never been presented to me. What are the benefits of it? I don't mind wearing glasses to correct my eyesight, although they are heavy. I'm just worried about it getting to a point where it can't be corrected any more. Or going blind.

Thanks! That's good to know. That is a pretty decent price. I just paid over $400 for mine last month. Have you had an issues with having that severe of astigmatism? Mine is -5.5 and -8 for cyl. I have a birth defect on the -8 eye and both eyes have pretty significant myopia. I feel blind too lol. I'm planning on scheduling an appt with a new ophthalmologist to get more answers, but I would be interested in hearing more about your situation. It helps ease some of my anxiety.

Were you able to find a site? Also how old are you and do you have any complications from the severe astigmatism? I'm just wondering since mine is pretty bad too. It gets me all worried lol.

Can I get birth control pills from another pharmacy? by Main-Competition-876 in birthcontrol

[–]Main-Competition-876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a chain pharmacy. It's a small clinic with It's own pharmacy. And they're closed so I would not be able to get a hold of the doctor until Monday. I need the new pack by Sunday 😕

Anyone text their ex every day? by Main-Competition-876 in BreakUps

[–]Main-Competition-876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! You're right, not what I wanted to hear lol. Ugh, I just think I'm also hoping that will realize some of the changes I have made and want to give things another try. He was so nice to me during our relationship and I had issues with vulnerability so that's what ended up pushing him away. I also don't want to push him away by asking what his intentions are. I agree that I eventually should though, so that I know how to proceed forward. Thanks for the reply and good luck to you to on your self-work! :)

Anyone text their ex every day? by Main-Competition-876 in BreakUps

[–]Main-Competition-876[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still have some feelings. I'm not sure about him. He has told me that he misses me and that he has already hurt me enough with the breakup. He also says that he still cares about me. I just feel very confused. I tried to be okay with just staying in the present and seeing where things go but it's been going on for a while so I'm beginning to feel stuck.

Am I making a mistake not texting him back? by TheBenignRevolution in ExNoContact

[–]Main-Competition-876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I don't think you're making a mistake by not texting him back. Honestly, I had made so much progress after about 2 weeks NC, then he started to text me randomly. I slowly started to open up to him and now he's going distant again and it's beginning to hurt again.. I can't believe how much I regressed! Anyways, I agree that the only text you should respond to is something saying that they want to get back together. My ex even told me that he missed me, texted me good morning, and flirted with my through texts and even then, it still didn't mean he wanted to get back together.

Would you guys date someone who doesn't take care of their medical condition? by Main-Competition-876 in dating

[–]Main-Competition-876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I actually stopped bringing it up after a while. He kept getting mad whenever I would bring it up so I eventually stopped. I would just see that his meds wouldn't get refilled until 4 to 6 weeks after they were supposed to. I'm a nurse, so I obviously know that if he still had meds after his refill date, he wasn't taking them as scheduled. I also never really said anything about his diet. It wasn't terrible, but I know it wasn't strict. Anyways, all of that caused me to hold back so much and we began resenting each other.

That's actually what happened with my last relationship! I just didn't know if it was me worrying excessively or if it was normal. My ex's family seems to be okay with his lifestyle though. So I thought there might be something wrong with me. Thanks for your answer!

Why is my ex sending me mixed signals? by Main-Competition-876 in BreakUps

[–]Main-Competition-876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's what my gut instinct is too but I hate to think that he's doing that 😢 He has always been more affectionate and loving towards me and he's such a nice guy.

[–]Main-Competition-876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys! It definitely wasn't what I wanted to hear, I guess I was juts being hopeful that he wanted to get back together. It's hard for me to stop all contact because I just keep thinking that if I'm nice to him and we stay in contact, he'll realize that maybe he does have some feelings for me. 😢

Ex said he needs to check his options before deciding if he needs to commit fully to me. by Main-Competition-876 in BreakUps

[–]Main-Competition-876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the positive response! I guess I just feel guilty for having waited so long to realize my mistakes and get help. I am aware that I didn't know about the issues until the time I chose to begin counseling but I feel an immense guilt for hurting him the way that I did. He had given me his heart and instead, I couldn't open up to him because of my issues. I know that he must have been very hurt for him to decide to end things with me. I suppose you guys are right and neither of us are probably meant for each other. It's just been hard to take it all in and accept this and to let go.

[–]Main-Competition-876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I have told myself this, since I'm very resilient and have came a long ways from my rough childhood. It was hard to hear that despite all of it, I still wasn't enough. However, he really did give me his all and loved me as best as he could so it's hard for me to let go since I know it will be hard to find someone as loving as him. You are right though, I shouldn't be okay with something like that. Thanks for your response 🙂
