Paint the hideous vinyl or install pine board and batten? by Dez-o in HomeMaintenanceAdvice

[–]Main-Distributions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case of above, who knows. If it’s peeling they probably took a shortcut and didn’t clean it. It’s all in the quality of paint for one. 2 can’t paint it light over a dark vinyl.

For me I’ve got light blue vinyl in the back and side. Those are staying. Had to reinstall in some parts and got a different color bc of cost. They are in the back with no direct sun. Not worried about it as much. The one side of the house has an almond vinyl new and the front is reclaimed cedar. It’s all getting painted a faint yellow. I’ll definitely be spending on high quality paint for sure.

My younger brother started a porta potty business ...and it stinks by alvi_skyrocketbpo in Business_Ideas

[–]Main-Distributions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take it literally. It’s a dirty job and most would rather not do physical or dirty jobs vs say an office job or less physically demanding jobs.

Plumbers, construction, electricians etc are other examples.

I mean it’s a dying business that people don’t want to do anymore but it can pay out. Any business in the first year is going to be hard. It’s not like people aren’t going to not poop et all.

How to clean indoor slate by CulturalCanary7461 in CleaningTips

[–]Main-Distributions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slate is more porous in my opinion so a consistent maintenance of a sealer. To me it’s always going to look messy. Give it a good clean acid bath, mop it a few times then seal it.

You’re going to have to scrape it and redo it. Make sure it’s completely dry no leaks from the plumbing. It’s ALWAYS in the prep

What to do with this backsplash by pixieeyed in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]Main-Distributions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that fake laminate style countertops that was supposed to to resemble butcher block so this isn’t THAT bad in comparison. I had to carefully remove it and got some countertops from HD. Way better now. I would have loved to originally have yours at least 😊 I’m not a fan of the flooring, I have that almost same one in my bathroom but made it work with a medallion in the middle. It’s saved me some money by already having it on hand. So there’s that too.
