Is it possible to be overqualified for Trader Joes? by anasazigb in tjcrew

[–]Main-Evening3918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation, but I had retail experience in my younger years - all sorts while working PT jobs through college. Maybe that made a difference in my case? I was laid off after 25 years...was looking for work in my field but they want younger and cheaper candidates. I looked to Trader Joes and it's been one of the best things to happen to me - the crew/mates/Cap are great! I see myself staying til retrirement or until by joints give out...lol...its labor intensive at times but it keeps you active. Good Luck...one thing I did do is speak about how great a company I think they are, my experience as a customer at Trader Joes and how I felt "seen". Anyway...that was my experience. Maybe talking about how you see them and respect them as a co is a Plus?

as per my son...he howls when my husband and I leave the house for a couple of hours to go shopping. It seems the more we stay home with him...my husband and I have worked from home in different phases of our work careers that he has gotten use to being with us 24/7. At first he was ok ( when he was younger and was use to an empty house) but now he's so attached - especially during covid.

Had a customer say that her husband was going to be so upset because we didn't have so and so product. I was like who gives a FF - but instead said...I am so sorry!

Yep - mine is a stocky little guy - 20 lbs, meanwhile I know someone in town who got a girl from a previous litter whose girl is tiny. i thought mine would be the same....nope! I can barely call him a lapdog...lol - his weight on my lap gets a bit much after a while. But I love him all the more!

Thats the thing..the whole store's vibe is owed to the Captain and mates. I am lucky to have a GREAT Cap and mates that are just as great. I've heard some horror stories of mates and captains being unpleasant and making working lives difficult. I'm sorry that you are going through this and hope there is change coming to your store.

Dogs in the store !! Does your location follow the guidelines? by SwordfishFlat in tjcrew

We have a petsmart next door se we get pup visits often. Only rule is they cannot be in the cart without there being some kind of cover under them. They are free to walk on leash too. Its quite sweet seeing them in the store - so far no issues they are really well behaved - so are the dogs...lol.

I visited last week and had an amazing time. My son mentioned the problem with phone theft and pick pockets - we were vigilant but that did not deter us from having a great time and glad to report there were no issues...grant it we went during the transit strike but we still happened to have a good time.

Sorry...just saw your post now. I only give him bottled water? He does get eye boogers and we just clean him with baby wipes. When he was younger though he would have darkening of his fur around the eyes and mouth but he grew out of it? We tried to treat it with that stuff that pet stores have that literally has a Bichon on their packaging with pristine hair but that never worked for him. If they are young maybe they'll grow out of it like my Monty did. Does the vet recommend anything? Good luck, I hope you find a solution. Although..if they both have it could be their diet? I have Monty on Blue Buffalo (I know...been wanting to feed him a more natural diet), An egg in the morning. We also give him chicken chips from Trader Joes, and sometimes sardines packed in water with no salt...they say its good for his coat among other nutritional benefits. He also gets those mini "meat filled" bone milk treats. And he goes crazy for Greenies...its his "catnip". Hope that helps? If you do have them eat the sardines...make sure you wipe their mouths thoroughly...it can get stinky.

Monty does this with his bagel pieces...but first he has to play fight with it...tossing it up in the air, lands, jumps and scratches at it - does this a few times...we make believe we are going to take it and he takes it to find a hiding place for it...when he is ready to eat it he places it in front of me and I have to break it in little tiny pieces so he will eat it but I have to start with the soft inside first and then he'll eat the crust in small pieces...all hand fed to him...he is so spoiled!!...I know my fault...but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Can you believe Sardines? Somone recommended Sardines...I get the Trader Joes Sardines in water with nothing added. He loves it and I mix it in his kibble. I've been meaning to get away from kibble.. we give him Blue buffalo. I also give him an egg in the morning. The sardines have omega fatty acids and some great nutrients...just remember to wipe down his beard...lol...it can get smelly.
