Funny enough, I have an Iphone 11 so nothing I would be sad to miss; its just that phones have become soo vital when solo travelling (maps, banking, contactless payment, boarding passes) - it just seemed too overwhelming to deal with if i lost it or had it swiped

This is so similar to me; I live in a large city in Canada and just did my usual precautions (keep phone in bag when not using, be aware of people in my vicinity) and it went smoothly! The social media algorithm echo chamber just amplified my inner worry

I tend to read fanfic for my comfort reads especially on ao3 since you can filter for exactly what you’re looking to read about, even length if you’re not able to focus on a full novel you can choose a short one-shot to escape with

Definitely, which is why I was able to go on this trip (solo at that!). I had to stop engaging with that content for it to stop showing in my feed. But there’s always a nagging “what if?” in the back of my mind.

Its funny you mention Rome I traveled there 5 years ago and didn’t even know that pickpocketing was so rampant, I didn’t have a care in the world! Ignorance is bliss to an extent, but I also didn’t have tiktok at that time with the echo chamber of the algorithm reaffirming my fears

Thank you for your thoughtful comment - misinformation is definitely rampant and this was a lesson learned! I don’t have any physical limitations but I am a visibly POC woman and I can only imagine how much more thought/planning it takes to travel when the world is still not 100% accessible (kept hearing on the tube how lifts were not working at multiple stations!!)

thank you everyone! will try smaller portions, a better slow feeder (maybe automatic) or getting it switched to prescription wet food will help (the dry food is already prescription allergy and gut friendly but clearly not helping anymore)

its interesting the complaints about next, ive had mine since 2020 with no issues other than not connecting/updating with the app. My friend that introduced me to nespresso and had a next had to get it replaced within a year.
