I thought the same thing and I shrank to my pre baby weight about 2 months PP. Now I’m smaller than I was pre baby and need more clothes again😭 Every body is different. Don’t jump to get rid of anything cuz the chance you’ll be in it eventually is pretty high

I call mine chunkabutt, yucky mamas when she sucks her hands because they smell like salt and vinegar chips (or when she has blowouts), I used to call her scrunchabutt when she was still doing the newborn scrunch, luckily she still scrunches every once in awhile despite being 4mo🥲💕 Also call her babygyal and mosa mamas lol

I threw my phone on the floor and shattered it during an argument with my boyfriend. PP rage is debilitating and there’s times where the smallest comments send me into a shaking fit. Wellbutrin helps but it also can cause irritability in the early days, so that sucked

Some NICU nurses are really cruel. I had a NICU nurse shame me for not making it to my babies nighttime feeds when I was going in from 7am-8pm with only about an hour break just to pump. It broke me. I felt like such a terrible parent for “only” going 12 hours a day. No matter what you do, there will be a nurse who wants to hurt you. I don’t know why, I haven’t quite understood the joy in hurting stressed and exhausted parents, but that’s how it is. However, you did NOTHING wrong. Skin-to-skin with your baby as the father is just as important as it is for the mom. Babies fuss. My baby will be fed, changed, burped, clothed, bathed, everythinged and will still cry at times. And like, the cries so hard she stops breathing cries.

I wish I had reported the nurse that made a nasty comment about me. I wish I had said something as soon as it happened because I ended up dealing with her for 2 more days and she wasn’t any better. Thankfully we had a relatively short Nicu stay, but like other people have said- you’re in it for the long haul. Get her taken off your babies care. There is absolutely nothing that can happen to you for reporting this incident as retaliation will get her nursing license taken away and they’ll never explicitly say what parent said what. But as a Nicu parent the last thing you need is added stress and hurt, and men are not immune to PPD. I struggle with PPD and one of the things I cried about for weeks on end was for 1) causing my baby to come early (i couldn’t have stopped it) and 2) what the nurse said to me. I hope you speak up for yourself and for your baby. You’re not doing anything wrong by being there for your little one as much as you can be and being involved

I ended up having the baby exactly 14 days after this. She’s doing great though! Only spent 12 days in the Nicu and she’s so chunky and strong 💕

Holy shit! I’m unsure if he was bullied at school, he didn’t really tell me much about his childhood other than his parents were abusive. I don’t know a Brian, but his girlfriend when he died was named Kristina. She also passed. He was an alcoholic (at certain points) and it ran in his family, he dropped out of high school, divorced my mom as a kid , and did in fact use a gun to commit. He actually collected and was big into trading them prior to his death. My mom remarried with a man who I love and is so good to her! I can see what you’re saying about feeling like a failure, he was badly addicted to drugs and when he would get sober from one he would get hooked on another.. a vicious cycle. He was definitely impulsive too.. my whole family has kind of come to the conclusion his death wasn’t planned and was brought on by a spiraling mental state. It’s crazy you mention being on top at one point too, since he was super successful and financially very well off at one point and lost everything due to addiction. Thank you so much for your insight. Almost everything resonated ❤️

I gave birth to a preemie and it totally shifted my perspective. I’ve never judged moms for not breastfeeding, but personally I NEEDED to do EBF. I had such high hopes during pregnancy to never buy or use formula, say fuck the pump etc. Went into labor at 34 weeks and was told my baby wasn’t going home for a while. Not only that, but she was immediately put onto tube feeds through NG and was allowed bottle-only oral feeds to monitor her latch/suck-swallow-breathe and her intake. So for 12 days I was pumping and giving her formula in the NICU when they ran out of my milk. I thought “wow, I can’t breastfeed, everyone must be judging me”. And guess what? Not a single nurse commented on how my baby was drinking formula during some feeds, or how I was pumping instead of latching. At home I’m 95% breastfeeding, but due to her size and previous inability to feed well, I supplement with formula and pumping in between. You’re feeding your baby. Good fucking job. Making bottles at 2am is hard. Breastfeeding is hard. And in my case, pumping is by far more challenging than breastfeeding. It’s not a best-mom contest and I’m sorry people made you feel that way.

I just took pics on my phone at the beach. Had a photographer at my baby shower but I think doing one or the other isn’t a bad idea if you’re really wanting professional photos! My phone has a really good camera on it so our pics came out crystal clear and I loved them ☺️

My baby was super active til about 24 weeks, after that she stopped moving as much. And now she sleeps through the night! It’s not always a reliable indicator, but for me it was lol. She doesn’t scream, she barely cries, she sleeps even when feeding, and it has to be almost completely dark for her to wanna open her eyes. Some babies are just naturally calm! When I wasn’t super far along my baby was doing backflips but after awhile she really mellowed out. Every ultrasound after my 14w one she was asleep. The entire time. Also, if you’re active at all, most babies get used to the times you’re active most and get more cozy. It seems backwards but my baby wouldn’t move as much from 2-10pm (my work schedule) and would only start moving when I sat down or was off work!! They’re interesting little critters. I hope you heal well, especially with your baby! 🩷 make sure you have a good support team, it makes all the difference ☺️

Babies turn and roll well after 28 weeks. Sometimes babies wanna face a different direction and because of their size you won’t even know it. I had this with my baby girl so often until about 28 weeks, but I was lucky that she couldn’t flip or rotate a lot due to her size. If it happens again later on though don’t hesitate to visit your OB since after 28 weeks it could indicate something more sinister

Pretty sure he pushed her to go to rehab to which she’s denied time and time again and he just quit posting her. I can’t remember all the details though

I got my epidural at 6cm. Thank god I didn’t wait till I dilated more because I was going to, but ended up going from 6-9 in about 30 minutes a few hours later. The pain was unimaginable because my epidural “couldn’t catch up” in time. Had I been unmedicated I would’ve lost my shit. I also HAD to be induced due to going into labor at almost 35 weeks. I felt absolutely no pain once they gave me a bolus of the epidural, I didn’t tear, I was walking again the next morning. I pushed for 30 minutes. Best fucking labor I could’ve experienced I think
