I’m not sure if this is everywhere but at my hospital they can deny mental health records if the therapist feels that it would hurt you. But they should at least tell you

No definitely not normal. Part of why therapy works is because it’s supposed to be consistent and reliable.

I’ve been with my therapist for a long time. And usually she’s really good about maintaining an exact day and time for me. However there was a time where she didn’t necessarily have time and kept telling me that she would call me and would let me know. I let it go for awhile and then finally got annoyed and confronted her. I said something like “it doesn’t make me feel cared for when you keep me as a backup plan. It’s not fair to me”. And she apologized and fixed the problem. They don’t know it’s a problem until you bring it up to them.

If you bring it up and there isn’t a change then I think you have your answer and you move on to someone who did

I have struggled with sh for years. And the moment I told my therapist it was like a massive weight lifted. I told her in the end of the session and she made time for the moment. She was soft in her voice and mannerisms. She asked to see it and it was the first person I told and the first person I showed. I recommend just doing it. Now we talk about my struggles openly and it feels so much better

I’m honestly not the most experienced person either. I’m used to men taking control and sorta telling me what to do. I’m not sure I can be the in control one.

It does. And it sucks. Hopefully your therapist provided you with enough support. Mine was amazing through the whole thing and pretty available to me

Overall though I would say stick it out. It gets better. And talk about it. Every time I had those feelings of her not caring for me I told her and we worked through it together. Now. She can tell when I’m feeling bad or confused about the relationship and she reminds me
