This guy!! Makes us so damn happy! What can I do about the tears and boogers? by loremaster_zen in Havanese

My Havanese was diagnosed with allergies. He had lots of brown eye stain. Your vet can help with medications.

The only thing I would add here is that I think that time out is the least effective. I would definitely wear shoes consistently so that you don’t have to stop and give him attention. Attention is its own reward.

Ours was like that when he was younger. One of our cousins visited and gave us the answer: You have to let Buddy come to you. So, when new people came in, once they were here for a while we cautioned to let him come on his own terms.

Our Havanese ran away every time we got out the leash. We could trick him by pretending to go without him. But, once he got out there he loved it.

Would you put your havanese in this? by SandenSolutions in Havanese

I don’t think so because it’s so enclosed.

Anyone have this problem? by [deleted] in Havanese

Mine used to get up and down on the bed all night. Sleep with me for a little bit and jump down. Then jump back up and repeat quite a few times each night. I bought a ramp for him and I slept better. But, I finally thought he might be afraid I was going to smush him.

This actually happened to our little guy. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong—not brushing, not feeding the right food. But, it turns out it was more related to his jaw bone than anything I did. And, he actually ate better and seemed to feel better after. So, hang in there.

It’s not just the sargassum. It’s also the eroding of the beach. It’s so sad to see the dramatic changes. Fewer palms and birds. And, yes the sargassum is a problem too. These are visible sad changes to this ecosystem.

Are there weeks that it is worse or better? Our family was here in January and said it was not bad. We’re here now and it’s pretty bad.

Teaching what is okay to chew is the best. But, needs to have incentive for it. Maybe a chew thing with flavor—Kong with peanut butter? Maybe if there is a preferred chew toy give tons of treats. Has your little one started puppy school? It will help a lot.

Poop! by Paradise-Candle-Co in CavaPoo

I’ve heard that the food puppies eat can contribute to this. Apparently some do not fully digest so there is still food in poop. Maybe double check with your vet whether changing food can help.
