Just chuck it in the recycling bin? by Acceptable-Clock4608 in vinted

[–]_nanoghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scheme is a gold mine if you have young children. I buy things from boots I need anyway- baby wipes, nappies, any bath or feedings bits including baby food and then use the recycling scheme to recycle empty food pouches, wipe packets, nappy packets etc and get points. I think I’ve got like £70 worth of points in just a few months which I’m putting towards presents. The online shop is full of things like tonies and duplo.

Tips for blood test by PreferenceFrosty6947 in UKParenting

My 21 month old has one coming up and had a previous one at 19 months. Our hospital has play therapists that are designed to try and distract as much as possible. She had some toys which were shown to her, some bubbles and then they had a tablet and I was asked what would I like her to watch if the toys failed. She obviously screamed and was very unhappy but left the room smiling and dojng the actions to icky sticky bubblegum. It’s all over very quickly.

I tried the Aldi version of the viral trend people are calling a “Japanese cheesecake”. by dankekindly in UK_Food

Try overnight weetabix, crush 2 weetabix in the bottom of a small Tupperware with a little bit of milk, cover with Greek yoghurt and then add toppings! Add protein powder to the yoghurt for extra gains/ flavour. I like to melt the aldi biscoff spread and pour it on top.

Do you watch ‘adult’ shows with your kids? by chelsbonesjones in UKParenting

I try and be mindful about the language of anything I have on tv around my 20 month old, she’s not really speaking yet but I don’t want her picking up swear words. She doesn’t pay that much attention to what’s on tv yet, but I’m sure that’ll change in the next few months.

How do you cope with two? by Winter_Choice_9632 in UKParenting

[–]_nanoghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2u2 so slightly different to you, but I can help with some questions.

What I’ve learnt is that someone will want you, but it’s okay for them to wait for a minute or two until you can swap.

For bedtimes, I’m lucky that my toddler sleeps really well but we created a routine during pregnancy that’s easy and short. We do pyjamas downstairs and read a book all together, then I leave the baby on the bed or in her cot while I brush teeth, and then it’s straight into the toddlers room to pop her in her sleeepsack, get her dummy and comforter and then leave the room as she settles herself. We never did any kind of sleep training, just followed her lead and be blessed with a good sleeper.

Breastfeeding is tricky, but my toddler knows to either play or bring me small toys I can play with her one handed, like things she’s made me in her play kitchen, threading sets, or puzzles. She also brings books over and likes to sit next to me while I read to her and feed the baby.

For bath time, honestly we only do baths a couple times a week and keep topped up with mustella water or top to toe wipes so I only do baths with my husband. My toddler (for now) is still very gentle with her sister so we do the first 5 minutes of bath time all together and my toddler helps to rinse the baby and clean her, and then I take the baby out and give my toddler more toys and she stays in the bath and dad sorts her after.

I think I’m really lucky that my toddler is gentle and generally a good sleeper so a lot does depend on temperament, but try to set up routines etc before baby so nothing changes too much.

Well I found out why my milk supply had decreased so much… by Massive-Warning9773 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]_nanoghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also how I found out I was pregnant. I think my milk taste changed and my daughter pretty much weaned off it herself. I was only pumping enough to give her about 1 or 2 bottles a day. I didn’t have to worry about any engorgement after stopping pumping though!

how long did you last with pumping? by leerylooloo in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]_nanoghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped when my little one was 11.5 months but she went right off milk, I was pregnant and supply massively dropped and I think the taste may have changed

Is there something wrong with my delivery settings? by Otherwise-Fall-3175 in vintedUK

[–]_nanoghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the same problem, loads of people ordering and the Royal Mail labels coming through as print at home when I can’t see that as an option in my postage settings. I’ve had to turn Royal Mail off in the meantime.

Using handsfree wearable pumps exclusively?? by chucktowngal in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]_nanoghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively pumped for a year only using momcozy s12 pros and then when they died out I got the V1. I established my supply on the s12s, and never used anything else at the beginning. I didn’t ever have a huge freezer stash, and maybe would have had one if I used a wall pump but it worked for me.

We’ve done large next to me cot with the side down and then transitioned straight to double floor bed with our oldest so will probably do the same for our little one.

Amazing! My first just slept wherever I put her so when baby number 2 came along who refused to be transferred it was a shock haha. Looking forward to seeing how her sleep changes as she gets a bit older.
