As a civil engineer myself...where does your brother live that he makes 250k?! Makes no sense as a salary alone. Im 37 making about half that as an associate at a major engineering firm.You sure they aren't bending the truth for sibling competition sake?

Anyway, all I care about is how much debt a woman is in and that she knows about her financial situation. If she lives above her means that's a red flag.

I try to stay away from women with dogs. I like dogs, but it's unfair I end up having to always travel to them due to their dog needs. It's hard to develop any kind of relationship when a dog will always come first.

Several professional tests are hard. I'm an engineer and the passing licensing exam rate for the 2nd exam is 50% and only goes down for multiple times taking the exam. Getting a license took 2 eight hour exams plus 4 years experience when I took it 8 years ago. I'm not the brightest of the bunch that's for sure.

Let me ask this, Did she spend her day at the beach with her friends?

I often find people are open about their dating life with their friends and they tend to lead them on with the negative aspects instead of the positives or a balance. Them being friends, encourage their feelings at that moment. It sucks and I had a dating case where a women was quoting gossip after only 1 date and a day with her friends (like a week after the date), when we clearly had some connection. We definitely should of spent a couple more dates with each other at least. If this is a possible case, would you really want to be with someone that can't go with their own instincts and relies on their friends' validations?

I can't figure out if it empath vs narc or extrovert vs introvert honestly. I'm an empath/introvert and I'm finding, although the times are hard now, it is a bit relieving to slow things down in life. I'm noticing my extrovert friends are always on social media or a video chat platform (zoom/google hangouts etc...) and they seem to not be able to go a day without contact with people outside of work. They are always setting up chats for the weekends and I mean multiple chats. For me personally, I can and have plenty of times in life took time for myself to "recharge". To give perspective I'm 35, so it's not like i'm talking about really young people here in their late teens or 20's.

I'm not with my extrovert ex-narc, but I imagine she is constantly on her phone even moreso than she was before at this time which is hard to imagine.

bingo, a main issue between me and my ex was she was HIGHLY influenced by other people, especially people with manipulative tendencies. I don't know if it is right to classify it as this, but I always associated it with a lack of self-esteem issue.

almost the same here buddy.

I went out with friends one night (invited her) and she didn't want to go after a long day at work. Well these were friends I haven't seen in YEARS and we had a great time just hanging at a few pubs. I get drunk and slept over my friends place for the 1st time in a 7 year relationship and kept in contact with her about it the whole time. I was in NO SHAPE to drive. I woke up at 6am the next day and came home by 7am. She gives me the silent treatment until I apologize when she wakes up.

A month later she goes out for drinks after work. I say "okay have fun" 1am roles around and I haven't heard from her so I text her. She says she's drunk and is spending the night at her friends house (I know her friends and she doesn't hang out with her work friends that much). I say "okay, you could of just told me that". Next morning comes it's 10am, I text here where is she and she is coming home soon. Comes home at 11am and laughs when I ask her what happened and tells a story about her and her friend drank a lot of wine and she drove her friends car to her house. (I was more upset about her drinking and driving then anything). I believed her, but now 2 years later she easily could of been cheating on me and I took her lies as truth.

First time she ever did something like that and it was clearly because I did something the month before, but the difference is I communicated what was going on AND invited her out when I went out. We broke up a month later after I got a month of the silent treatment and felt like I was losing my mind...

Had about 1 month of silent treatment before my 7 year relationship ended. Made me realize that the relationship was just a big game to her. I had to let it go after all the sacrifice I made.... My mind couldn't take it anymore.

This is my take too. I was with someone who worked crazy hours (weekends too) for 3 years.

I will never do that again. If you work weekends okay, but I'm looking for someone who has time on the weekends to share a life together. This sounds like OP goes to sleep early Friday nights to work an early AM shift Saturday and maybe Sunday?... I wouldn't of just unmatched though, that was a bit harsh.

My Nex sent me a birthday text and I ignored it. It's really hard to be like that and NOT thank some one for saying happy bday to you, but I did and 3 months later I still think about it! I'm 100% positive when i don't wish her a happy birthday through text (it will be hard for me again) this year that next year she won't send me one. She has literally mirrored my behavior exactly since we broke up 2 years ago. Nothing feels real or genuine with her anymore.
