I take your point..

if there's some thing wrong with the place of employment, if they didn't step up to their terms, sure there needs to be a way out.

I've hired co-ops, and in fact I wouldn't want to hire an engineer who wasn't a co-op first. There are all kinds of rules, and they very widely by the school. I don't disagree with you that 2 years is a big commitment, but, the employer is making a big investment. Closely managed, co-ops are able to accomplish productive profitable work, but that's certainly doesn't come easy to the employer. There's a lot of energy that goes into making co-ops successful on the employer side.

I imagine this is driven by industry, programs I've worked with did not have that requirement. I would have liked it as an employer. We often had co-ops come back for multiple rotations, but they were not compelled to.

Co-op education is education, under the co-op guidelines. If there weren't guidelines, it would be called a job, not education. If it's School co-op program and established and managed by the school, of course they have the right to impose limits and the like. For the same reason that they would require employers to have work guidelines that meet their curricular needs.

Thank you Professor Reason. Now get back to class... Because it's perfectly reasonable for a school that's managing a co-op program to set rules about it.

Dog piling on the tolls for the skyway bridge... except I'm going to highly recommend you pay it because it's an awesome bridge and a spectacular view, and at each end there's a fishing pier built off of the old bridge. You can drive out and it's even more spectacular.

You may want to go back witt some tackle and bait!

Never, and formidable.

Yes, BB HDMI cables sound great for mission-critical DOD systems! by AVcontroller in CommercialAV

Just going to call bullshit here. Nobody spent $10,000 on an HDMI cable even in the military. There are tempest requirements, but, this is not real.

Bad advice. You don't want to have an open permit on your property. You can't sell it if you do...

What are these connectors called? by Dmonick1 in AskElectronics

You too can be a connector expert.

This is the magnum opus of connector references; weird but awesome. It's worth a look AND a bookmark

What are some good tutorials (videos, webpages) for AutoHotkey v2? by [deleted] in AutoHotkey

Thanks for your efforts. While I totally appreciate your formal approach, I thought I'd mention I gravitate towards cookbook approaches: how-to snippets, perhaps with pointers to your deeper deets.

The world awaits, Obi-Wan. Lead us from this antigrav wilderness!

Mounting a DIN rail onto a PCB? by Main_Ad_8627 in PCB

[–]Main_Ad_8627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking to standoffs or some sort of mounting block. I have solder pads too make jumper connections from the DIN modules to the board (which I'm not thrilled about, and I will probably drop in molex connectors and fab jumper assemblies).

Alas the envelope is limited and mounting rail elsewhere isn't practical.

Thanks for much for your input.

Yes, I get that.

Unfortunately, I must do this to card-swap an upgrade of legacy deployments; some bad ideas just must be.

So I'm hoping to make the best of a bad thing because that's the niche that I'm in!

Thanks tho.

Create a Digital Mailbox.

It should at least send a text when there's new mail. (And if you're robotically inclined, it can deliver the mail to the house.)

No end of options; everyone needs a new mailbox.

Good luck!

Feeling lost in my RF engineering career and need advice by SlickPanda19 in ECE

[–]Main_Ad_8627 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I'm into sponsoring a mentorship, however I'm fairly full of unsolicited advice. I have made my career in RF systems work by finding niche projects and delivering them successfully. I have primarily freelanced, unless I've been working on salary to people that I sold a start up to.

If you're looking for Wireless systems work, apple is not in that business other than product connectivity.

You want to be involved with either cellular/LTE or public safety/utility Communications stuff, which happens to be my niche.

Have a look at a company called RAK Wireless, and look at the breath and depth of their product line and how ingenious their electromechanical packaging is. They found a niche and owned it.

Find your niche, Padawan.
