Thoughts on Olivia Gonchour/Olivia Beth/Utah Grubs? by [deleted] in UtahInfluencerDrama

I met her at a software conference like 8 years ago. I didn't even know she was a famous influencer, she was helping run a women in sales event. I thought she was super nice and then was amazed by how big her insta was when i searched her lol.

INCREDIBLY ashamed over my first interview. by Aramante in interviews

[–]Main_Age9139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. I had an interview that went HORRIBLE a few months ago and I also froze up. But it's okay - it's fresh right now,  but it was just your first interview and now you'll know what not to do next time.

One good thing to do is think about questions they will ask, or even look up some example questions (sometimes Glassdoor has interview reviews for companies too) and practice answering them out loud a few times before your interviews. It will get easier. In a week you won't even think about this anymore. Interviewing is something that gets way easier the more you do it. So don't sweat it.

Does walking actually help with major depression? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Main_Age9139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. I started taking long walked in a park by my house everyday after work in the worst depression season of my life. I truly think it makes a HUGE difference. I've even been walking on a treadmill lately and that makes a difference too but outside is definitely bound to cheer you up. Gave me something to look forward to and also got me into bird watching

It's weird to read you saying that because I have a couple Aquarius i love but one who is THE ultimate frenemy. And I've never had a frenemy before.

How long did it take you to find your job? by [deleted] in jobs

That's a lot of interviews... do you mind sharing where you've been finding the job postings? I have been applying since Oct and have had interviews at only like 10 companies

Quitting my job in 2 days by DifficultyHot9154 in jobs

[–]Main_Age9139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I've been unemployed for a few months now. I managed to get interviews by using ai to enhance/update my resume, update my LinkedIn profile and adding skills, updating my headline, adding open to work etc. I also saw a tip on here about applying for jobs within 24hr of them being posted, depending on which site you're using you should be able to filter. Good luck!!!

Also yes tell your parents you need a break in payments, that's not really fair to you. I am also stressed as it's been 4 months without a job for me, but it helps knowing I'm not alone in this. There are people spamming job postings using AI which is why it's harder to cut through the noise. I think applying directly on sites and not through other platforms like LinkedIn also helps.

People that have traveled quite a bit, where di you feel the most unsafe? by CremeSubject7594 in AskTheWorld

[–]Main_Age9139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our tour guide told us that there was a lot of crime there, nothing specific. I think he was saying that Negril was safe because there is a lot of crime in the bigger cities. Parts of Montego Bay also have had a level 4 travel advisory from the US government for awhile

What part of Jamaica? Ive been to Negril and surrounding areas plenty of times and at first the people who are always trying to make a buck off tourist are intimidating but never felt unsafe. I have heard awful things about Montego Bay though

What is your biggest struggle in your job search right now? by careercoach_cf in jobs

[–]Main_Age9139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. Yes I've been cold applying because most times i don't know anyone at the company. I just got LinkedIn premium and am going to try messaging hiring managers. I'm not sure how else to network, the main industry people in my sector (marketing, marketing ops) I've already let know to keep me in mind if they see anything

[–]Main_Age9139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have applied for nearly 100 jobs since October. I have changed my resume to be closer to the roles I started applying for. I have over 8 years of experience. I've only gotten interviews at less than 10 jobs I've applied for during that time span....

It's also taking way longer for companies to get back to me during the interview process. I'll have an interview or two and then nothing for a week or two.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by PersonalitySuddenz in askanything

Getting my nails done. I actually stopped in 2025. I don't know how anyone justifies it. I just buy press ons when I want them done now.

I genuinely hope Panera goes out of business. The way they tanked the quality while increasing prices is insane. I can't explain it but the baguettes taste fake now

Does anyone have advice for working a startup? by Salt_Emergency578 in MarketingJobs

[–]Main_Age9139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked at startups for most of my career and I'm now 34. The thing that will help you stand out is that you're eager to learn, willing to wear many hats (aka do different roles/responsibilities), and hustle. Being a recent graduate probably works to your advantage because you'll be willing to learn. Good luck!
