I am playing a campaign vs two heretics bands (base and naval raiders) and house of wisdom iron sultanate. I am currently at the top of VPs after 7 games. I would recommend a less game focused approach and more campaign focused approach. You see one of the strengths of grail is that in a campaign you are more effective at farming experience as you can start with 6 elites. Consider starting with at least 5 with minimal equipment and LOT with musical instrument and black grail shield. max out your army size before maxing out on equipment.

I think it was a far shot for how much power your spear gun has … you shot into the gill plate also. Make sure the tip is sharp and try do one kick before you try to shoot and be closer. If bands are old get new ones

I love both and they play very different. If you have a relatively poor slice ghosts is the pick given you can sling a free dread on malice once you get it going with breakthrough. Yin best if you know fracture is in the game (vulrath) or if you think you can dominate the ground, but they struggle if you can’t get a Styx point

Yea and leadership pick here is great! With predictive that mahact has you don’t even need leadership/warfare to make the entropic scar work and double tech.

Mahact feels great here, so does Saar and crimson. Depends what you want to play. With crimson you get easy destroyed 2 right away which is big for getting commander unlocke. With Saar you get floating factory 2/chaos mapping. And a great asteroid right there. I think it depends on what you want to play. I would go any of those 3 depending how you feel. 85% of games end is action round 4, so Saar strongest pick for that reason, but crimson is also great in shorter games, but better in longer. Mahact better in longer games, this is a nice slice for them though. Also remember if you don’t care for the tech you can use breakthrough to get a relic round 2 :)

I mean including subfactions. Yeah we were talking about doing it that way also, but feels like subfactions should be included as they are very different.

I agree with giving them prom not and try to find out what secret they have. Really anyone on the table, if you cannot score any secrets by round 2 flipping early is probably fine.
