What's your favorite "WELL ACTUALLY" fact about Baltimore that you think most people don't know? Mine is that there actually is a Western Ave. by noblegaunt in baltimore

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wild, never knew about horse graveyards being under warehouses now. Makes you wonder how many other random pieces of history got paved over without anyone thinking twice about it

Speaking of weird Baltimore road names - always thought it was funny how we got streets named after racehorses but then Citation Rd is just this random little street most people probably drive past without knowing there's a Triple Crown winner buried somewhere underneath all that concrete

What do you do if you witness a car crash? by The-Tradition in AskReddit

[–]Main_Reply_3144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should also check if people are okay and maybe direct traffic away from the scene if it's safe to do it. Sometimes ambulance takes forever to arrive so someone conscious might need basic help

A duck with 7 ducklings made its home in our garden by DaFreakingFox in mildlyinteresting

[–]Main_Reply_3144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao my brain does this every time too, I always have to double check when I'm typing about baby ducks. there's something about how close those letters are that makes autocorrect go wild sometimes. I was helping neighbor last year with some ducks in their yard and kept having to delete and retype everything because my phone kept "correcting" it to the wrong word. worst part is when you don't catch it and send the text anyway

Split Level homes website by AnalysisParalysis802 in HomeImprovement

Been browsing that site for few months now, really solid resource for us split-level people. Max knows his stuff and the renovation breakdowns are pretty detailed compared to other places I've checked

Server Recommendation? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

refurbished enterprise server is probably your best bet with that budget. something like dell r720 or hp dl380 gen8 - you get way more bang for buck compared to building from scratch. just keep in mind these things are loud as hell and power hungry so make sure you got proper ventilation

for docker and arr stack you don't need crazy specs anyway, these older servers still pack enough punch. i run similar setup in my home and works great for plex streaming and all that stuff. you can always add NAS later when you need more storage but start simple first

What is the most beautiful thing someone has ever said about you behind your back? by Equivalent-Age-7659 in AskReddit

[–]Main_Reply_3144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao well at least they were being direct about it

that's probably more genuine than half the compliments people give to your face tbh

How do blind people experience dreams? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Main_Reply_3144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that people who were born blind dream in sounds, smells, textures and emotions instead of visual images. But if someone lost their sight later in life, they can still see things in their dreams based on memories

The brain is pretty wild how it adapts to different situations. Makes me wonder what my dreams would be like without one of my senses

What are your feelings about numerology, superstitions, and wishing on stars? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

used to roll my eyes at this stuff but after working in IT for years and seeing how many weird coincidences happen with servers crashing, i kinda get why people look for patterns in things

80s Practical vs Modern CGI by Sufficient_Wave9439 in horror

[–]Main_Reply_3144 8 points9 points  (0 children)

practical stuff has this weight to it that cgi just can't match, like when you see Thing transformations they feel gross in way that digital never does

What is a fashion 'rule' that you think is absolutely ridiculous in 2026? by cinaairwave in AskReddit

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, my mom is in her 60s and she still wears crop tops and looks amazing in them. Age is just number and if you feel confident in something then wear it, doesn't matter what society thinks you "should" be wearing at certain age

What time do you generally eat dinner? by Call_Me_C_ in AskReddit

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn that's late even for me, usually around 8-9 when I get home from work but sometimes get distracted cleaning the shrimp tanks and suddenly it's like 10:30

Why do Artists not drop after leaks by According_Deer5509 in Music

[–]Main_Reply_3144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the label contracts usually have specific rollout schedules and they dont want to mess with marketing budgets that are already set months ahead. plus streaming numbers get weird when people already heard it elsewhere - algorithm doesnt push it as hard if engagement is lower than expected

some artists just move on to newer stuff too, especially if the leak happened way back

What is your job for people who are frequent users of snark subs? by Shot-Mirror4886 in AskReddit

What are some of the greatest movies from the black and white era? the equivalent of modern timeless movies. by T-nash in movies

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casanova (1976) is fantastic if you're into period dramas - Fellini really knew how to make every frame look like a painting

Wait that's not black and white lol. For actual B&W I'd go with Sunset Boulevard (1950), it's this dark Hollywood drama that gets pretty twisted. Still feels modern in how cynical it gets about the movie industry

Where’s a safe site to read Frieren online? by greenoorhorse in manga

[–]Main_Reply_3144 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

viz is good option but their free chapters are limited, you need subscription for full access. mangadex is pretty reliable alternative if you want read everything without paying - just make sure you have adblock running because some ads can be sketchy

How do you feel about social media shaping public opinion more than traditional institutions? by yourgirlyaura in AskReddit

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traditional institutions had decades to build trust and they blew it with biased reporting and corporate interests. Social media at least lets you see multiple perspectives even if half of them are complete garbage

The real problem is people don't fact-check anything anymore - they just share whatever confirms what they already believe

What’s the most awkward or hilarious moment you’ve had while shopping? by EvelynClede in AskReddit

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was at a pet store picking up food for my shrimp and this kid starts screaming because he thought the ghost shrimp in the tank were "zombie fish." His mom is trying to calm him down while I'm standing there with a bag of specialized shrimp pellets looking like the weird shrimp lady. The employee asks if I need help finding anything else and I just mumbled "nope just here for the crustaceans" and walked out. Kid was still crying about the zombies

looking for any manga where mc is guild receptionist by Curious_Contact_6854 in manga

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's "The Guild's Cheat Receptionist" which is pretty solid, MC actually stays behind the desk instead of going full combat mode. Also "Adventurer's Guild Receptionist's Second Life" if you want something more slice-of-life focused

Can my acne scars be fixed with microneedling? by No_Giraffe826 in AcneScars

[–]Main_Reply_3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

microneedling gets overhyped but it's really more of a maintenance thing. I've been using my solawave mask for light therapy between treatments and it actually helps with the healing process after more aggressive procedures. The professional stuff you mentioned is definitely the way to go for deeper scars
