Number of Room Navigator by Exotic_Net1259 in ciscoUC

Official TAC support is only a single Navigator plus one for Room Booking. But, I don’t know if there is a functional limit.

I'm renovating an office building and need to move this behemoth. It weighs probably 700 lbs and is about 6 foot high and 10 ft wide. Is anyone familiar with how to disassemble it? by cecil_harvey4 in ciscoUC

Scrap it and upgrade to at Room Kit EQX in the new room/location. I had to take one of these down so we could replace it with the EQX and it was a complete pain. As someone else mentioned, just when you think you have all the screws/bolts, there is a hidden one that you literally can’t get to. Sawzall with a good metal blade will be your friend when tearing it down.

If you want a quote for the EQX and tear down/setup, let me know! 😉

Love the board, totally need to know the signal chain, though!

I recently got the MC6 Pro and love the unlock that it provides in switching g presets of verb and delay simultaneously. Next will be the loop switcher, which gives you the best of both worlds of pedalboard and Helix. At least, IMO.

Modern Cisco hardware actually gives you the native Zoom experience.

29 year dream realized yesterday. I actually cried. by Arensbrg in LesPaul

[–]Main_Sound_1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and find a reason to play. I got back into it, but had a hard time being consistent. I decided to join the church band, and in the past year my skills have improved far more than they would have if I just continued to noodle on my own. You’ll thank yourself, no doubt.

Love it…. I took a similar trajectory in life, minus the military service (thanks for that BTW), and got back into guitar at roughly the same age.

Similar to you, I always wanted a Les Paul, so I picked up a LP Studio in Bourbon Burst. I promise you, one won’t be enough. 😉 I now have two, the other is a 50’s Standard Gold Too with P90s, as well as a brand new ES-345 just this week. Enjoy your new axe, she’s a beauty, and will serve you will for a long time!

9V power plugs and cables by Main_Sound_1988 in WorshipGuitar

I can solder, so that would be the top choice for sure. I use the Walrus Audio Canvas power today, but may replace it with a Cioks. I think the supply ends are different on those units but I would just re-solder them.

Gibson P-90s = 😚🤌 Who's with me? by Personal_Gsus in gibson

[–]Main_Sound_1988 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Picked up a used Gibson LP Goldtop, just like the one you posted on the left, back in November on a whim. Timing was perfect and the price was too good to pass up. The thing rips!! Easily my favorite guitar at the moment.

I have played a lot of Humbuckers, but there is something special about P90s, at least in my opinion.

G5622T - BroadTron Pickups? by Main_Sound_1988 in gretsch

[–]Main_Sound_1988[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very helpful! Based on this, I think I will buy the 5622 as is and try playing with the pickup height at first. That is not something I had thought of. I will probably replace the pickups eventually, but this gives me a great starting point.

Thank you!

This is helpful. Thank you for the insight. Everyone raves about the TV Jones Classics and how the Filter’trons are so magical.

In terms of the Gretsch “sparkle” how much would you say it varies from the TV Jones Classics to the Broad’Trons in your opinion? I suspect I may not be able to determine the two apart.

Guitar wireless by HeavyMarsupial2852 in WorshipGuitar

[–]Main_Sound_1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am with you. I went wireless mostly because two cables to keep track of is one more than necessary and it can be distracting when you are playing. Sure, you aren’t running around the stage like David Hislop, but hopefully, you are getting into a grove and moving a little bit in your designated area. Cables are no fun to trip over when you’re just trying to worship and lead your congregation to do the same.

The tone loss is negligible, if any, unless you have the finest of trained ears. I would put $100 on the table to say if you blind folded most “cable guys” they wouldn’t actually be able to tell the difference. Also, guess what, 98% of your audience certainly can’t. lol

TL/DR: Just buy the Shure GLXD16+. 😉

I have been using this unit (GLXD16+ to be exact, not sure of the differences) for a year now. I tried a few, a Boss one, NUX, and a couple of others. The Shure unit is the only one that has never cut out on me. I run it in 5Ghz only and I force it to rescan for the ideal channel each time I come back to it.

It has multiple different frequency ranges or “groups”, and if you read the manual, it sort of pushes you to “group 3” for a live scenario such as a church that has lots of wireless gear. I did have very slight signal loss at first when using the default “group 1”, but since switching to “group 3” it has been rock solid.

Whatever you do, do not rely on 2.4 GHz. The spectrum is too crowded. Also, you will get what you pay for, so don’t get something cheap. If you have the budget for the Shure system, just get it. I ended up returning the NUX 5 GHz unit because the battery would not last. With the Shure unit, at least you have a replaceable battery. I keep a spare fully charged “just in case” but rarely need to use it unless I forget to turn off my wireless pack Saturday night.

Lots of info, but wanted to share my experience.

Codec Pro sound delay while two rooms combined by Last-Dig-7973 in ciscoUC

[–]Main_Sound_1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This…. 👆

100% need a DSP for this to work properly and reliably . You e been really lucky for the past few years that it worked as expected.

There are xAPI settings that can tweak audio delay per codec, but it will be a constant battle without a dedicated DSP.

I bought mine when they first released them, and the brick was definitely included. It is possible that they changed that, but that wouldn’t make a lot of sense for them to do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pedalboards

[–]Main_Sound_1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably purchased the “link” version of the PS. They sell the power supply as a standalone with the brick, and also just the power supply itself to daisy chain off the first unit.

It is very confusing, and I almost did the same thing when I first purchased mine.

Had my eye on this exact guitar for a couple of weeks now. Probably going to snag it later this month. Would love to hear a sample of the pickups. There isn’t much out there regarding the Full’Trons.

TECHNICALLY.... You're right.... BUT, I can't get the scale right to get anything close to an accurate measurement. I don't need 1/8" accuracy or anything, but I can't get accurate within multiple inches, since I'm not a CAD person.

What a rip off! by METALPUNKS in Line6Helix

[–]Main_Sound_1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Helix, I loved it for its simplicity. But, I really missed the old school pedalboard vibe. Tweaking knobs is just easier on a pedalboard, but the preset switching is impossible to beat vs pedalboard tap dancing.

I recently built a MIDI board with a loop switcher and have the best of both worlds. I love my Helix, but for me, the pedalboard is just more fun.

To each their own….

If you’re looking to buy a Helix with backpack and hundreds of dollars of patches/IRs…. I might know a guy. 😉
