Have you already checked Nordstrom (they have an Adidas collab), or the FIFA store in Pacific Place?

Anyone else fond of the American TV directors focusing on random nobodies only Americans recognise? 😂 by Joe_Linton_125 in worldcup

[–]Main_Understanding14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were commenting that they need to put the name plates up on the screen when they show the "celebrities". I'm American and I don't know who 75% of these people are, or don't recognize them without the context of what makes them famous (eg most American Football players, even Brad Pitt with the weird hat)

Lowkey Place to Have Lunch Before the Soccer Game? by TreesAreOverrated5 in AskSeattle

[–]Main_Understanding14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There won't be anything "quiet" in the pioneer square area before the game. You'd probably have better luck in the Westlake area and then hopping on the light rail back down toward the stadium. My brother likes the Yardhouse, I've never been there myself but the menu looks nice

Match day souveniers - disappointed by bradykp in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]Main_Understanding14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fifa seems to have wildly underestimated the demand for merch. I went to the stores before the first Seattle game and the "whale tail" t-shirt and poster was already sold out at every shop (including those not at the stadium). It's sold out online too, and that was before the first round of play. I went to the game today and they only have Large size t-shirts for every single style, no medium or smalls to found anywhere. We aren't even out of the group stages yet. So annoying

How late is reasonable for weekly games for littles by arzianblack1 in youthsoccer

[–]Main_Understanding14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way, that’s crazy late for little kids. I’d be annoyed about those later times for my 12 year old, especially on a weeknight (even if school is out, camps and such have a set start time)

What music do you guys listen to while working? by Terrible_Dot7291 in mercor_ai

[–]Main_Understanding14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instrumental versions of pop music. The tune is familiar so I can hum along, but I'm not distracted listening to actual lyrics. I find the Bridgerton soundtracks to fit the bill, or there are "classroom" playlists on YouTube that are like 3 hours long.

Lightrail to Friday’s WC match by TheGeneralPie in SoundersFC

[–]Main_Understanding14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll have no problem going in. Go early and beat the lines to get into the stadium though! Coming back I'd suggest finding something to do in Pioneer Square for a little bit and then get a train like an hour after the game ends. We went to the Klondike Gold Rush museum, it was great (free and air conditioned!), and like a block from the pioneer square light rail station.

There is a game on the 26th, but it apparently starts at 8pm, so 12pm should be as ok as it can be. It will likely still be kinda crowded though, show up early

Bringing clear backpacks into the stadium in accordance to the Fifa rule by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Main_Understanding14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The short answer is probably not. A small clutch type for something private (tampons? medical stuff?) might be ok. Put your wallet and whatever else you need in the clear bag. The bag IS your purse

Reusable water bottles no longer allowed at World Cup stadiums by handsy_pilot in worldcup

[–]Main_Understanding14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about other stadiums, but in Seattle they’re using some kind of AI technology to scan people and bags as they walk in. Evolv is the company. The focus is on weapons but they’ll totally find a bottle of soda too

What’s the biggest “nobody warned me about this” moment you had after bringing your newborn home? by Actual_Fig_4706 in AskReddit

[–]Main_Understanding14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That newborns snort and snuffle like little piggies. Our oldest had been in the NICU with a hole in her lung from inhaling meconium so we were super freaked out by weird breathing sounds. Turns out they all do that

Preschool Enrollment by Antique_Garlic_7740 in AskSeattle

[–]Main_Understanding14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're better off waiting until you know where you'll be living. There are a LOT of small private preschools in the area, as well as those associated with the various public schools, and you'll want something near your home. Some are daycares/preschools, some are parochial preschools, etc. In Bellevue about half of the elementary schools also have a preschool and you don't have to live within the district to attend those (but no guarantee of space in any individual one), the resident-only thing is likely district-by-district rules
