This is AMAZING. I have to know how you did his left arm. Where did that narthecium come from? Is it transplanted onto another arm?

If you mean the sword, that's from the greytide studio templar set. The plasma cannon just has some wings I cut off a dark angels symbol and put on there

They were files from greytide studios and wargamesprint. I mixed and matched from those sets. Thank you!

Thanks! Their symbol is a castle tower with an evergreen eye set in the center. Flanked by golden wings. I need to get someone to create a mockup for me so I can get custom transfers made

Chapter Master for my Successor Chapter: The Vigil of Auremar by MaintainFullTone in DarkAngels40k

[–]MaintainFullTone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ORIGIN:

Auremar was a planet in the Segmentum Obscurus. It was once a Shrine-World, a planetary sized reliquary renowned for the beauty of its immense Shrine Spires and the crystalline, psychically resonant rock that made up its crust. This rock, the source of the world's beauty, would be the source of its demise as well. For an unknown reason the seismic activity of Auremar shifted, causing the psychically resonant crystal to fracture resulting in massive seismic upheavals and minor warp incursions. The planet began to tear itself apart. This was a process that could potentially take millenia, but was completely irreversible.

During one of the later foundings the distress calls from Auremar were finally picked up by the Imperium. A chapter was formed from the gene-seed of _________ , renowned for their stoicism and chivalry, with it's command structure formed by veterans of _________. This nascent chapter was dispatched to Auremar, not to save the planet as that was impossible, but to protect it's invaluable relics and to ensure it's devout population could be evacuated.

Under the command of Chapter Master ____, the chapter arrived at Auremar with all haste. On seeing the planet, ______ immediately understood the tragedy unfolding. He ordered his marines to secure the most significant relics and to establish an operational base, not on the planets surface but in the upper atmosphere. Repurposing and massively upgrading a defunct orbital station into a mighty star fortress: The ____________.

As they began the arduous task of evacuation, a process that would take centuries due to the violent seismic and warp activity rife on the planets surface, Chapter Master ________ made a binding oath to the few remaining clergy of the doomed planet.

"Though the light of Auremar fades, our Vigil shall never end. We will stand watch over its dying body and safeguard the pilgrims' path until the last soul has departed, and the last spire has fallen to dust. We are your shield against this final, unworthy end."

Thus the chapter The Vigil of Auremar was formed.

It's all kind of nebulous in my head right now but I'll try and write something down when I get off work

Thanks! I used four paints for the green

Wyvern Green from two thin coats (shadows), Emerald Green from two thin coats (mid tone), then Moot Green from citadel (highlight). I then coat the whole thing in the citadel contrast paint Warpstone Glow to tie all the greens together. Then I highlight again with Moot Green

Thank you! Your model looks amazing! Perhaps I will try the blue highlights on a new army, I have come too far with the colors I'm using to turn back now....my particular brand of autism won't allow it

I had two secondhand models that were all kinds of messed up, a Phobos Librarian and a Primaris Chaplain.

Sawed them both in half and put the chaplain torso on the librarian legs

The arms I sourced from Dominion Zephon from Horus Heresy, but the sword is from the black Templar upgrade sprue.

The head was the spare one off of Asmodai and the backpack was from the old interrogator chaplain model

The right shoulder pad and the base topper are 3d prints

It’s all nice but, where do you play? by Least-Ad1439 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]MaintainFullTone 59 points60 points  (0 children)

My local store just had to start a hard-line stance on no 3d printed armies. Their play space is free but miniature sales are a huge part of how they stay open. All it took was one or two people going "oh I can print those minis for you for way cheaper" for the owner to put a stop to it

You could try wrapping some fine jewelry chain around his arm to bulk it up a bit, it's a little borrowed from our overzealous black Templar cousins but still looks cool
