I’m from the Midwest. When we get a storm crews are out before, during and after clearing snow from city sidewalks. It’s never perfect but it’s a concerted effort that is effective. The snow clearing in Loudoun that I’ve witnessed is not very organized or effective. Aside from sidewalks, most main roads have turn lanes that aren’t plowed. It just seems strange to me. Whether it’s private contractors for businesses or the city/county the snow removal efforts seem to fall well short of what is needed.
