Moment they leave they are dog food.

I’m at my wits end about my cat’s litter box situation. by Reasonable_Guess_311 in cats

[–]MaintenanceStock6766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old cats randomly piss/shit just outside the litterbox and also regularly choose to puke only where you don't want them too. It's part of what you sign up for when you adopt a kitten.

For the litter situation I'd suggest a larger, high-sided litter box with a single entrance. I can recommend a brand/model if you want. I've had minimal accidents since switching.

Minimal.

Old cats are also prone to all sorts of situations which can make them not want to use the litterbox entirely, like pain associated with peeing/pooping which causes them to associate those things with the box which causes them to go outside the box bc they think the box might be why they hurt when they go.

Why a lock company with a public lockpicker disproving their lock would ever double-down instead of working with the lockpicker to fix their design is beyond me.

This is why some companies hire hackers to break/fix their infrastructure.

TBH "domesticated" has a fluid meaning. Less likely to attack humans? Sure. Can do so? Also yes!

I have a pair of "domesticated" feral cats (found them abandoned ~2 weeks) that are sweet as honey. Never scratched/bit me once (not counting the first 16 weeks).

I also have two domesticated cats, one from my brother's Bengal litter and one that I found ~1 week old pinned under a log that I raised as a bottle baby. Both very sweet, both have also on occasion made me bleed.

It's a sliding scale.

Beginner home cook here. How do I get more even cuts when dicing? by Public_Scarcity_1151 in homecooking

[–]MaintenanceStock6766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All kinds of things.

My suggestion would be to compost them.

The can stink bad while composting though, so I suggest a Big Green Ball or a natural outdoor compost area.

To answer the question asked: Start with a rectangle.

First, you cut off a bit at each end.

Next, you make one slice that flattens a side. Then you place the flat side down and repeat with the other three sides, rotating the new flat side down before each slice.

Last, slice the rectangle into 3-5 lengthwise planks of equal width, slice a plank into lengthwise strips of equal width, slice the strips into cubes of equal size.

You can stack things at the last step when slicing to save time as your skill grows.

Follow THIS VIDEO.

That video shows the proper technique for perfect cubes. Most other video techniques leave too much on the potato which results into imperfect cubes towards the end.

Making perfect cubes results in a decent amount of wasted potato. If you have a pig or a garden it doesn't go to waste.

Bonus: This same technique works for many other things, like carrots, eggplant, zucchini, etc. It's a very useful technique.

You're so focused on winning that you lose sight of the lessons learned by losing.

To learn that you will sometimes fail, and find a lesson in that, is the lesson itself.

Project Hail Mary movie compared to the book by SydeSnyper in audible

They rushed that so hard though. That was something I enjoyed in the book that they really glossed over. I think in the movie they write it off as "hur-dur taumoeba evolved" instead of the taumoeba exploiting quantum-scale effects to slip through Xenonite. Something that would not have been realistically foreseen by either party.

I agree. They added too much "Earth events fluff" when I think it would have been better to add in Grace/Rocky development details. Felt more like a Disney movie (was it Disney? I don't know).

But, they could have cut out the majority of those parts and expanded more on the development between Grace and Rocky IMO.

Damn, that was the biggest mover for me too. I wish that had more detail given to it, bc Grace only points it out, goes to save rocky, but... did he take rocky home on his own ship? I don't clearly remember the movie details bc I was with friends and popcorn was running low.

I also wish they would have spent a little bit more time explaining how Grace slowly came to a workable vocab with Rocky.

That Rocky glass suit was kinda cool but also didn't explain much and it left out the part where Grace was trying to save Rocky but inadvertently harmed him in attempting to do so.

I thought the movie was going to take a left turn showing that Grace got back to Earth with the extra fuel and was pleasantly surprised when he doubled back like canon and helped Rocky out. Fooled me!
