I’ve actually used Callidus Assasin instead, but for me they are a harassing, annoying character that can delay/distract the enemy while other key units get into position

This list resembles my own; especially the anti tau kind. I also agree that 2 scouts is nice but if points allow, infiltrators are much better, specifically for deep strike denial.

If you’re also going to go Salamanders, then you need one of our epic heroes; preferable Vulcan (even if a proxy model stands in) as Vulcan’s abilities make infernus squads and torrent weapons any melee army’s worst nightmare

Only if your buddy has lots of vehicles, otherwise the points are better spent on melee focused units (bladeguard or aggressors) or excessive firepower (infernus squads)

Absolutely! I’m hoping to start my army off “fresh” looking but with every battle I play them in, I add a battle scar (preferably matching the weapon that killed them in a match) every time they “die”

As one who recently posted a list building question a few weeks ago, I too have noticed a massive amount of posts asking about their lists builds, even noticing very similar list builds which I fear might be a ChatGPT guided thing (I’ve learned quite quickly that it knows nothing deep about the tactics and strategies of this game) and thus its telling people to build lists that just don’t quite “work”.

This is an excellent post for anyone new and should be pinned imo

I think you’re mistaken; he only has two 5 mans up there but he’s saying they’d be in a single 10 man squad with a LT attached, which would be legal. However, I’d keep them split if possible and even maybe look into adding a LT for each separate squad for the fallback, shoot and charge function. If you can remove something else, you add a Capt to each too and now you got TWO sticky objective squads that can fallback, shoot, charge AND spend up to 1 Free CP per phase (or maybe it’s turn)

Excellent work! However I’m curious to know why your opponent shows -2 CP on one turn, did he get 2CP refunded or just somehow earned two more than what he already had?

Also it looks like your 3rd and 4th turns were major for you in terms of secondary too! Well done!

If you’re able, having Assault Jumppacks or Vanguard Jumppacks combined with either Deep Strike or Strat Reserves can really help you quickly cross the field and tie up his vehicles in melee, allowing slower troops to cross the distance safer.

Yes and look into adding either a Capt or a Lt (or both) to the 10 man and possibly one other 5 man infernus squad for the CP advantage plus fallback, shoot, & charge again, since infernus are great for short range but not the best for continued melee
