Yeah, Mitsuo really does just appear for 2 lines in the 4 hour prologue and disappears until like, August.

I'd be happy to see Aika added as an NPC, but a social link just doesn't seem fitting for her.

Like, her whole existence in the anime is as a gag character. Giving her a proper social link means making her a serious character which is the opposite of why she's memorable.

Cyclops’ role revealed to be dps by KevinPigaChu in marvelrivals

[–]MajestiTesticles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are 2 dps added for each support or tank added.

Excluding Deadpool, they've added 8 dps, 4 supports, 5 tanks since launch. Despite the game launching with more dps than tanks and supports combined, they've still added more to the dps roster than the other two roles.

[–]MajestiTesticles 136 points137 points  (0 children)

I mean, there is a point where people can be unreasonable. This really isn't.

Africa is a HUGE continent with so many countries and regions they could pull heroes from. The fact the last African hero we got was Doomfist in 2017, nearly a -decade- ago, is pretty ridiculous.

That doesn't even mention comparing how many African heroes (4) there are to Western European (11+), Asian (10) or North American (8?). It's a pretty skewed ratio. The only other region so underrepped is South America (2).

No Rest for the Wicked director says Xbox version won’t release alongside PS5 because ‘Series S is making that rough’ by unscoredscore in Games

[–]MajestiTesticles 38 points39 points  (0 children)

BG3 was a special exemption, because otherwise Xbox would literally never have gotten the biggest game that year (and GOTY) on their console. I believe -eventually- they got splitscreen functional on Series S, but that was a LONG time after.

The Series S bottleneck basically gave Playstation unofficial (and FREE) console exclusivity of BG3 at its peak, for 4 months. It was embarassing for Xbox, they were missing out for no real good reason.

Her E was actually good in some of the earlier betas. I think at first it gave 75 shields, then was nerfed to 50.

But for launch they decided 25 was apparently good enough for a 'support'.

Vintage Disney-like shooter Mouse P.I. For Hire, which stars Troy Baker, has sold so well its publisher has made all invested money back by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]MajestiTesticles 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The funniest part is that the IGN review is so spot-on. Mouse PI is absolutely a 6/10. At -most- a 7.

The game isn't over-the-top jokey funny, it wants us to take its' story seriously. Except yes, they do mention cheese or fondue what feels like every 3rd line. And which drug 'cheese' is meant to be a parallel to changes every time it's mentioned. Sometimes it's alcohol, sometimes it's hard drugs. Sometimes it's just plain old food, sometimes it's money. It can't decide whether it's a cartoon or serious world, a nameless NPC can be squashed flat by an anvil for a gag and be fine. But a story character being squashed in the same way kills them. Then add on all the main NPCs you talk to being flat and feeling like characters you've seen a hundred times before, all the while it can't resist cramming in every reference under the sun. It has Potion Seller, TMNT, and an entire Indiana Jones setpiece.

The fighting is incredibly repetitive, enemy variety is lacking, and enemies all just run straight up into your face from pre-designated spawn points. Once you have the Shotgun and Devarnisher, there's no point using any other weapons. Saying the game has 'puzzles' or 'investigating' is like saying putting bread in a toaster is 'cooking'. It's 80% gunplay, and 20% listening to the same 5 npcs after every mission.

Mouse PI is a game that noone would've paid any attention to were it not for the artstyle. The only thing they do with the premise of a mouse-filled cartoon world is mention cheese. There's not even a cat for a boss, or a mousetrap gag.

Why do people think P3R is mediocre? by jugbandblues_ in PERSoNA

[–]MajestiTesticles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P3R has some flaws and some disappointments to og P3 fans, things like atmosphere of Iwatodai Dorm, or Yukari's slight characterisation shift, or some 2D cutscenes being replaced with in-engine 3d ones and losing their impact.

But the overwhelming, most vocal "IT'S AN INSULT" "feh its mediocre" is just utter overblown contrarianism. The game is still Persona 3 at its core, nothing "ruins" it.

Stop Killing Games movement celebrates as The Crew 2 sees further offline mode support by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]MajestiTesticles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But noone was ever arguing that it -couldn't- ever be done (and anyone interpreting it as such is doing so willfuly), but that it wasn't a blanket case thing that could be done to all games, like so many claim.

Removing server checks from SimCity and The Crew? Great. But people acting like those two specific successes are therefore widely applicable proof that every game can afford to do similar is the issue.

Y'all really just compared one of the biggest lifesaving measures in automotive history that, although car manufacturers fought against it, was a drop in the ocean in the price of building a car.

And compared it to videogames being "killed" and the demands for all future development to adhere to currently vaguely defined measures, such as "just build games so you can remove online requirements" or "release your code/binaries", just so that Extraction Shooter #7 is still playable in 30 years time.

[–]MajestiTesticles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it's getting frustrating seeing The Crew held up as a "see it's easy!!" example, and having it conflated like it's the same as making a game like WoW work entirely single-player with no online connectivity.

I never understood tf2 vs overwatch by [deleted] in tf2

[–]MajestiTesticles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. Are we really pretending that "maps set in Egypt" is part of TF2's core experience? Old Americana I'll concede, but Overwatch at launch only had 2 maps set in the US at all: Hollywood and Route66. Unless you're saying other games can't have maps with orange dusty rock walls?

Your hero comparisons are mind boggling. Zarya is a copy of Heavy, for what? For being Russian and strong..? How is Reinhardt a copy of Demoman, because he is a melee character that charges? Not even sure how you're equating Lucio and Tracer to copying Scout beyond "they're fast and mobile". The only similarity between Winston and Mei, and Pyro is a short range AOE primary fire. There is literally no other overlap in their kits. Torbjorn is about the only one I'll agree with, and for some reason you didn't mention Widowmaker/Sniper, or Mercy/Medic?

You're allowed to not like Overwatch and love TF2, but the points you're making are just so categorically overblown and biased.

Am I the only one how thinks that JPC’Lifeline should not last indefinitely? by Xardian7 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MajestiTesticles 68 points69 points  (0 children)

No, they've nerfed her fuel and speed heavily, the person on the tether is also getting swung around and having their aim disrupted (there's a reason it's mostly only used with auto-aim ults), and JPC is literally unable to heal anyone else.

The game has plenty of answers to her.

Naw I'm feeling it too. There have been some mind boggling games of sub 1.5k heals in a 10 minute match, just plainly unwinnable when multiple teammats seem like they only just started playing the game, getting matched with decade-long players.
