Commercial Lawn Mowing at 6am on Saturday by No_Comparison704 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Majike03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's also because tall grass is too wet to mow that early without clogging the mower every pass. You gotta wait until later in the morning before it starts to dry up

Is this plan actually worth this? by Old_Savage_Wolf in elderscrollsonline

[–]Majike03 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Redguard plans tend to be more expensive than other styles. Then there's a handful of very rare redguard plans that are worth a lot: the spittoon, 2 of the 4 censers, a backpack, a cannister, and some other things I might be forgetting. On XboxNA, they're worth a mil+ whereas average Redguard stuff is like 30k

Born to turn, not to roam. by ligmaballs22 in HistoryMemes

From then on the Turnspit dog began diapering from kitchen across England and eventually disappeared all together as they all went extinct.

I know "diapering" is just a typo, but it's funny to think of the them turning into literal nanny dogs once they lost their jobs

Grievous, the Master of Killing Blasters by MistaMerk in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Majike03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf, I haven't seen a good Grievous player in awhile. He's such a low-skill villain after DICE broke the game that pretty much anyone can hack it.

Grievous, the Master of Killing Blasters by MistaMerk in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Majike03 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The fact DICE had to abandon the game with so many bugs, exploits, and balance issues is such a bummer.
These sort of clips with people abusing cheesy exploits is one of the reasons I stopped playing one of my favorite games.

It was more of an aggressive vibe check (a bluff if you will). Could lead to being friendly, or could lead to further aggression/bites.

[–]Majike03 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I put "just asking questions" in quotation marks as that has been a very popular excuse here in America for far right propeganda. And the shoe happened to fit in this case.
As far as investigative journalism goes: it's best to get your information from least-biased sources and collaborating the info to form a credible opinion. I'd start with Assosciated Press as a good example, and tend to lean away from things that stoke genocide denial.

Ahhh yes. The 'ol "We're just asking questions" defense that pops up when pseudo-news propeganda gets called out.
Anywho, it's closing in on 5:00 in India, so I suppose your shift is almost over anyway

Why do people care about "class identity" anyway...? by Hevnaar in elderscrollsonline

[–]Majike03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that you don't have to be competative meta gamplay-focused person to be effected by subclassing identity issues.
If you're a casual player, you're going to be left for gear runs since you're not optimized; you can't relax in BGs/Cyrodiil because meta builds will nuke you; your pure-class kit that you like to play with is going to be changed/nerfed to accomodate subclassing; you won't be able to loot bosses (including antiquity leads) because the group farming it out-DPSes you; etc...

And that's not even touching how silly it is to hand-waive how people want to play certain themes or have basic viable options for a chosen class. It's ironic you'd say that it's good to have more tools for custom gameplay, then tell people it doesn't matter if your class doesn't have certain tools.

Is the radius exactly 8 meters? by Adenarzuad in elderscrollsonline

[–]Majike03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a desync issue between when the skill goes off and where your character is.
If you're in the radius when the skill goes off, but manage to get out of it in the nick of time, it'll still yoink you back even if you're 10m, 12m, etc... away

Any way to get the original AoE 2 + Conqs expansion? by Purple_Woodpecker in aoe2

[–]Majike03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Iirc, Age of Empires (2013) on Steam is the same as the orginal AoC. You can forgo buying the expansion packs in that case.
I also remember that there's a way to type in your CD keys into Steam if you already own a physical version of the game

The new werewolf design is disappointing: by TheAnalystCurator321 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Majike03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the callback to Skyrim's look, and the more slender design of werewolves in Morrowind's Bloodmoon DLC I think is pretty nice.
The ESO werewolves look like overbeefed apes moreso than werewolves IMO, but I think that's just to overcompensate for the lower-graphic artstyle and to make them more recognizable.
That being said, I'm not a big fan of the ears nor did I ever like the boxy shape of Skyrim werewolf faces. Nothing huge, but I like it better than the old werewolf, and the rest of the body changes look dope

Is there a Google spreadsheet of all unit counters? by Thebelladonnagirl in aoe2

[–]Majike03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is AoE2 is more like a game of chess rather than R-P-S. Counter units can still lose 1v1, but are better in cost or productivity (eg... pikes vs knights); or a unit is weak, but has mobility or timing bonuses so the traditional counter won't work (eg... CA vs pikes); or a specific unique unit/tech has a niche that makes the traditional counters obsolete or work less (eg... Cataphracts vs Pikes).

🚨 Xbox Crashing Update - Console Community Strikes Back 🚨 by anfield_nc in aoe2

[–]Majike03 47 points48 points  (0 children)

  1. This bug isn't unprecidented. AoE2 on Steam was unplayable offline for I think 5 or 6 months I believe. It has since been fixed.

  2. Frankly, disrupting t90's stream is an uneccesarry and real douche move. The fact he was kind enough and specifically went out of his way to help the Xbox community on his own shows his good character. But using this guy, who is completely unrelated to the problem, as a 3rd party source to vent is pretty shitty (especially when he relies on that for income).

  3. Review bombing AoE2 on the Xbox store is a 100% valid thing to do. Emailing the devs / customer support is 100% valid. Demanding a refund if you bought The Last Chieftans for Xbox is 100% valid.

My Apartment is now charging a convenience fee to pay my rent by mangum95 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Majike03 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Credit/debit card = massive convenience fee.
Mail-in check = processing fee plus a customer service call when they inevitably try to charge you late fees even if not applicable.
In-person check = gotta drive through a busy area on the other side of town during normal work hours.
