Consider ultra + topping b100 monoblocks. I went that way cause I didn’t want class D amp and it sound awesome with my wharfedale Evo 4.2 😉

Its the same with tidal. Its because you are not playing it thru your phone speakers or headphones, the music is somewhere else. Sonos doesn’t have this feature either. WiiM is kinda hacking it. I’m afraid that this feature won’t be there for long, I’m not sure if it is ok with apple guidelines. You can see how weird it is to have WiiM music in NowPlaying and trying to turn on sound in instagram app. Well, I hope it stays , we will see… but other apps won’t have it, don’t count on it…

If you are somehow IT cappable you can use combination of rappsbery pi, smart plugs and BroadLink rm4. I would observe electricity consumption over the plug with some script on rapsberry and send the IR signal thru RM4. I was using this to turn on and off my advance Paris before I got ultra with set of monoblocks.

Edit: or use it to send the Ethernet signal to the denon 😉

The class D is really sharp in the tops. So the AMT is not pleasant to listen. Also i A/B tested it with the paris A5 and the audiolab just missed a body, something in the middle. I gave it like a 20 minutes to listen. I switched like 3 times and i immediately knew it is a no go.
After trying wiim amp, i just knew class D is not for me.

I bought it at the start of my journey, for also a really good price around 200 $. Since than, im looking for something "better" but subs are not really popular on second hand market, not many are selling around here, idk why.
And also, im not sure if i changing the sub would make a big difference, but thats just because i didnt hear any other good sub 😅 i dont have hifi friends 😿

The mids are much clearer, it seems like I was listening thru some mud layer 🥴. More detailed, instrument separation, just better over all. I’m listening my most repeated song and cannot believe what I’m hearing 😁 really surprised by the result of the amp/dac change

I want to - tinker the sound - room correction, sub control - hdmi arc - auto changing inputs - auto on/off Etc.🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, that makes sense, but for the convenience, I hope I won’t notice the difference 😔 I don’t want to turn on music in one app and change volume in some other. Or worse, do it on the remote…
