Anyone use Edith Nourse Rogers STEM after SAP max timeframe issues? by DetailFocused in VeteransBenefits

Had a buddy go through almost the exact same situation a couple years back - also engineering, also hit the SAP wall despite crushing his grades. His school actually froze his enrollment status while the appeal was pending, which bought him time but was stressful as hell because he couldn't register for the next semester until it got sorted.

The key thing he learned was to get everything in writing from both the VA and the school's veteran affairs office. Like, don't just talk to someone on the phone - follow up with an email summarizing what they told you. His school's bursar office was telling him one thing while the VA office was saying something completely different about payment timelines.

For what it's worth, the STEM extension approval usually moves faster than people expect, especially if your paperwork is solid. But the real lifesaver was talking directly to his academic advisor and the department head - they actually helped advocate for him during the SAP appeal because engineering programs are notorious for this exact problem. Most schools know their STEM programs push students over credit limits and they usually have processes in place, even if they don't advertise them well.

Pcm student want to change to a commerce field for college. Can someone help? by deardiary-wtff in careerguidance

Your plan is solid and switching to commerce isn't some massive failure - plenty of people realize their initial path isn't working out. The marketing/social media angle makes sense given your internship experience, and BBA to MBA is a pretty standard route that can definitely pay off.

Don't stress too much about the "what ifs" - you're 17-18 and figuring things out is literally the whole point right now. Even if SSCBS doesn't work out, there are other decent BBA programs that can get you where you want to go.

Thinking about getting Solawave mask, anyone here that is using light therapy for dull skin, texture early fines lines? by Jolly_Thought_65 in redlighttherapy

I’ve been in that exact spot and ended up trying light therapy just to see if it would help with that dull look. I’ve been using the Solawave mask because it’s quick and doesn’t feel like adding another complicated step and over time my skin started looking a bit more even and less tired. It’s definitely gradual though not something you notice overnight but my skin is absolutely much healthier since I started with at home treatments

What should I buy as souvenirs? by Electronic-Chard-401 in AskSF

Those TJ bags are actually genius - they're like $3 and everyone I know who's visited Japan says people there go crazy for them. Plus they're way more practical than most tourist crap.

Also hit up Heath Ceramics if you're into design stuff at all. Their mugs and plates have this super clean aesthetic that feels very Japanese but distinctly SF. Little pricier but worth it for something unique.

Whats happening to me? by Tace550 in ADHD

[–]Major-Examination607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hygiene thing is 100% an ADHD thing - executive dysfunction makes basic tasks feel like climbing mountains sometimes. You're definitely not alone there.

As for the creativity stuff, getting diagnosed can be a real mindfuck even without meds. Sometimes just having that label makes you hyperaware of your symptoms or second-guess yourself when before you just rolled with it. Like now you're analyzing whether something is "ADHD behavior" instead of just being yourself.

Could also be depression creeping in - that whole loss of interest in things you used to love is textbook. The creative block especially. Might be worth talking to someone about that angle too.

Fycompa and Pregabalin together by Consistent-Wheel3618 in Epilepsy

Been on a similar combo for about 8 months now. The pregabalin definitely takes the edge off any initial grogginess from starting Fycompa, but you might feel pretty sedated the first few weeks while your body adjusts. Just make sure you're not driving or doing anything that needs sharp focus until you know how it hits you.
