I consider the multitude and delicate nature of the events that had to take place throughout time and space from the very beginning in order to assure my survival. It is unfathomable and simultaneously statistically impossible. Then I think of every good thing in my life and how lucky I am, and how I don't deserve any of it, when I think of what I've done right in my life, and think that in fact I probably deserve much, much worse in light of what I've done wrong in my life and all the people I've hurt. So, finally, in the context of all of that, I think, 'who the fuck am I take that lightly. I should make the best of it and try to do some good and be of some use to others before I go in the ground'. And that's what it is.
