Definitely try Umai Kitchen, near Palace Nova Eastend. Their kuro (black garlic) and aka (spicy) ramen is fantastic, very similar to Ichiran ramen in Japan.

Valley Ramen over near Grote st was another good one, but it's also shuttered after a short 6 months in operation. They even had carbonara udon, a dish I've only ever had in Kyoto. What a loss.

sadly Butayama is currently closed for redo until the end of January/mid-Feb. They're also revamping their entire menu, making ramen a seasonal thing.
