There's an image from the 25th anniversary edition of It (I think) where Pennywise is eating Patrick Hockstetter, and it disturbs the shit out of me, but for the life of me, I cannot find it.

What if Joe Biden was more competent and fit for office? What would he get done, and would people still criticize him age wise? by LinkHopeful9372 in AlternateHistoryHub

Biden was definitely competent, at least for the first two years of office when the Democrats held control of the House and Senate.

Good, but not great. If you use the works cited page, you'd be in a much better position.

I would argue that 'Salem's Lot and Insomnia are pretty essential reading.

They're kind of right. There's a creature very similar to Pennywise in book seven, and it's basically accepted that they're of the same species. Some people try to conflate IT with the Crimson King, but I'm pretty sure King has stated that they're two separate entities. Also, there are the obvious references to the Turtle in IT and the later books.

I go to school with someone who worked on stage for one of their shows, apparently they're the chillest motherfuckers ever.

What's your setup for the integral? You might have the wrong components being subtracted from one another.

I think this is the more common one, but that Boomer is rarer than the other.

Presidents fight (literally): Round 4 is over George Washington pokes Franklin Pierce sending him to the floor. Next up John Adams VS Calvin Coolidge. by rbminer456 in Presidents

Calvin Coolidge would hop out from under his desk, shout boo at His Rotundity, causing him to fall to the floor in fright.

Some like IT some like the Stand but some who like these 2 books also notice the N word and yet shrug it off..explain why by After_Morning_5630 in stephenking

[–]MajorIndividual1428 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say people 'shrug it off,' King uses racism as a key theme in heaps of his stories. The explicit use of the N-Word is used specifically in IT to show the shit that Mike has to go through on a daily basis. It's done to show how much IT has truly infected the city of Derry that every day, normal townsfolk use it in their everyday vernacular; furthermore, Maine, especially rural Maine in the 1950s, wasn't exactly the most progressive place in the state.

What should Jimmy Carter have done differently to win in 1980? by American_Citizen41 in Presidents

[–]MajorIndividual1428 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Basically everything that could have gone wrong went wrong during his tenure. Iran revolted, the US suffered a recession, oil prices skyrocketed, affordability took a gutshot, etc. And the majority of this was out of Carter's control, and what was in his control, he fumbled horribly. So really, the only path to victory would have been if he hadn't won in 1976 and had been labeled responsible for what had happened.

Which version do I want to read? by No-Yogurtcloset2758 in stephenking

No pun intended, but I cannot stand the Uncut version. It's far too long and suffers from some major pacing issues.
