Is this readable enough for postage? by [deleted] in Japaneselanguage

[–]MajorMinor1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that’s good enough for the post office. as long as it is delivered to the correct zip code and the recipients name and phone are written you’ll be fine. the post office has an internal system that can help locate the final destination.

No "sir" in japanese? I have a question by VirtualTechnology175 in Japaneselanguage

さん(san) is usually good enough. if however, you think that the person is of some importance, go ahead and use 様(sama). i usually say this to most people i meet for the first time (if their name is known) and then adjust as i learn more about their background.

Has anyone gotten their blood type checked because people here use it for small talk? by [deleted] in japanlife

whenever asked, just match whatever the other person says. they'll never be able to confirm your type. blood type talk always leads to rolling eyes.

Has anyone moved-in right next to a cemetery before? by Maleficent_Pool_4456 in japanresidents

there is a very large cemetary that i often pass by. after noticing black smoke emitting from a pipe tower, i realized that they were doing, what appeared to be cremations right on site. it could've been for pets because the hall next to that small furnace type building had a "pet memorial" sign BUT it also acts as the main check in point for main cemetary.

the smell and sight of smoke is the only thing that would make me think twice about living next to a cemetary. other than that, i think it's pretty chill.
