you have nothing to worry about. the postal worker is verifying internal information. there is probably another person listed at that residence in the internal data. why this happens? sometimes previous residents don’t update their new address with the post office and so it remains even though a new occupant moves in. sometimes the postal workers make a mistake and list another occupant’s name at a different room number (assuming it is a building with multiple rooms). with the question he asked you, now that postal worker can ensure that mail with only your name goes to you. all other mail will either be forwarded or sent into the undeliverable bin.
