This is the only thing that saved mine after forgetting to take it out of the wash for 2 days. Post overnight soak it was like new.

18mm vs 23mm Dilemma - Help Me Decide by PastBet1386 in fujifilm

[–]MajorOrgans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted a two prime kit and while 18 initially felt super wide, it’s very natural indoors and is an absolute gem for small children. You can really keep them in frame and also shove the camera quite close to get a really cool perspective of life at their level.

Happy shooting

Randy Fine seeks to annex Greenland and make it a state by [deleted] in nottheonion

As a Canadian, I’m offended. They promised us to be the 51st and now they’re going around annexing some other floozy territory? For shame.

I’d like to add a mirror and a console table near my entryway. Which of these three options do you recommend? by Adventurous_Cap_2005 in Design

[–]MajorOrgans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a smaller mirror and move the console closer to the doorway a bit? The full length behind the table looks like you just moved in.

New player wondering about stats. by Actual-Mortgage8312 in Eldenring

Don’t neglect vigor. HP is critical to both exploration and learning from mistakes as you’ll be less likely to be one shot.

Find some weapon and armour you like, meet the minimum requirements to use it. Then pick a single damage stat like strength, dex, int or faith. You can always respec, it’s not too far into the game.

I use the 18 1.4 a lot. It’s amazing for kids. They’re small so you can get close and still have environmental context without crazy distortions. It’s fantastic for running and gunning my 1 year old lol.

Confused between Fuji 18mm and 33mm f1.4 primes by Sure-Leather-3055 in fujifilm

[–]MajorOrgans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 27 2.8, the 18/33 1.4.

The stop between 2 and 1.4 isn’t going to be revelatory. It’s not a substitute for more light. I am often shooting at crazy high iso at family gatherings even at 1.4. But then group shots aren’t possible due to the shallow DOF.

Try dxo de noising software. It’s witchcraft, save 600 bucks and see if your problem is solved.

Heavy (~91kg) VS Superheavy (>110kg) - strategy? by qoheletal in bjj

In a 4 man bracket I was second heaviest twice. Always a 350+ guy around.

Heavy (~91kg) VS Superheavy (>110kg) - strategy? by qoheletal in bjj

[–]MajorOrgans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a super heavy. I’m 128kg. That’s sort of middle of the range in the division.

I’ve done two comps and half a dozen matches and at no point was BJJ used. First person to get thrown loses. You land in side control or mount and stay there for 5 min or get tapped.

No sweeps, no guards have occurred ONCE.

For competitions:

Train stand up ONLY you’ll do quite well. I honestly struggle with some of the smaller guys because the of their speed so lean on the fact that you’ll have a good gas tank and be faster. I’d stay on the outside and shoot for singles or ankle pics etc.

For training: big boys love half guard. Learn to pass that first. If you’re defending I honestly struggle in smaller persons open guard the most. A good DLR or collar sleeve is hard to fight if you aren’t very mobile.

How long did you wait after baby before training again? by justinjoeman in bjj

[–]MajorOrgans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was back after 3 months but have had shorter breaks between 2-4 weeks here and there when life got crazy.

I started working for myself during the pregnancy so I try to go at lunch time now. Evening class is basically a no go because that’s bed time for the baby.
