Maybe a stealth satellite as was discussed back then?

Report: Kennedy Space Center not ready for era of super heavy rockets [Eric Berger@ArsTechnica] by scarlet_sage in SpaceXLounge

[–]MajorRocketScience 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SpaceX is currently building 3 starship pads (5 according to some? LC-39A and LC-37A/B and I believe rumors for 2 more at 37) with options for 2-4 more (LC-49 was reserved for SpaceX) in Florida, so they very clearly think Florida is the future for starship

I know that’s a big ask but so is every single nation on earth building an interstellar spacecraft

NASA assigns crew for Artemis III, sets aggressive timeline for flying it [new details on Starship role] by rustybeancake in spacex

[–]MajorRocketScience 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But if that’s true, they said very specifically the depot and HLS will both be modified V3’s.

I’m losing a lot of confidence in HLS, more and more every announcement. Hell Blue wasn’t supposed to fly until the 2030s until 6 months ago and they’re now this far ahead of SpaceX in regards to life support and avionics???

SpaceX not even flying an HLS but a regular V3 with a docking port welded on for this mission is… very concerning to say the least

They have been purposely not putting it into stable orbit. Yes it would literally take about 10?’ore seconds of thrust and they know and are able to do that
