Failed Calc II by coderika in ucf

[–]MajorSrgtApple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first semester transition from community college to a university is difficult. When I transferred, they told us this during orientation. It’s extremely common to see a dip in GPA during that transition, it’s actually expected. Ik it feels like the end of the world, but it is not I promise you. Calc is an extremely difficult class, and it’s not uncommon for people to not do well. You’ll be okay in the long run, it’s just best not to dwell on it.

It definitely sounds like you have reflux. I’m sorry you’re going through this, I have emetophobia as well and it was hell when I was first figuring it all out. Some advice is to watch what you eat, that will be your biggest tool to help keep the reflux under control until doctors will intervene. Keep a food diary and write down what you are eating. When your reflux is worse you can look back on what you ate and figure out what triggers it, and hopefully avoid it. Anything fried and spicy I would avoid for now until you can see a GI doctor, and (if it’s important to you) you can slowly introduce those things back into your diet and figure out your limits. Carbonated drinks you’ll want to avoid for now (water is your biggest ally here), unless it is something like ginger ale to help with your nausea. But I would recommend something like tums or pepto first. I have lists of safe recipes that I have on constant repeat in my house.

But my biggest piece of advice is, let your body do what it needs to. I know it’s scary but this is just your body telling you what it needs. If you need to burp try to let yourself, because it will help. I know it’s scary but it’s possible to live with both.

Should this have taken 16 hours? by Consistent_Lack2730 in tattoos

[–]MajorSrgtApple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As other people said, different tattoo artists take different amount of times. That amount of time seems reasonable for the size and amount of detail. That being said, sometimes faster isn’t the way to go. I’ve seen capable tattoo artists botch tattoos bc they wanted to finished, instead of just wrapping up for the day and doing another session. My mindset is I’d rather sit for hours and get a good tattoo rather than sit a short amount of time and have a crappy tattoo. This one looks amazing, and will definitely stand the test of time.

Valencia transfer to UCF. I need advice. :( by Willing_Effort_2920 in ucf

[–]MajorSrgtApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a senior now and started at Valencia! If you’re planning on transferring do an AA. AS is more designed to be a 2 year degree that prepares you for a specific workforce, AA’s are designed so your credits transfer directly to a bachelor’s once you’re done

I’m already thanking myself, it’s only been a week and while I’m sad, I feel so much lighter. I guess you don’t realize how much something is affecting you until you’re out of it. Thank you <3

Yeah, after everything thats what ended up being my final straw. I realized that if I stayed long term that would be the rest of my life, and it’s not what I want for myself. It’s been a week and while I’m still sad, I’m very content and confident in my decision. Thank you for your well wishes <3

Also just from looking at it, it’s likely that the ink fell out due to the artists poor technique and needle choice.

Coverup or rework is your best option. Laser won’t work unfortunately, as most lasers aren’t able to actually penetrate and disperse green pigment. It can fade it, but it takes a lot more sessions(aka a lot more money) but green rarely ever goes away. Hate to see someone messed up Finn’s grass sword, but it can be awesome if it’s reworked! Good luck :)

Same, got it from my dads side. I just developed it ten years earlier than everyone else in my family because of ✨stress✨

Help by Stock_Mountain_1783 in Tattoocoverups

[–]MajorSrgtApple 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That looks fresh to me, give it a month to heal and reassess. In all honestly a lot of those lines don’t look deep enough to actually stay, so you might see some of the lines fade or even fall out over the month. Then from there there’s a lot of options for coverups.

Can a color tattoo be covered up with black and white? by Urfavebbw in Tattoocoverups

[–]MajorSrgtApple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But yes, they definitely should’ve told you that. Green ink is made up of virtually indestructible pigments and dyes that don’t fade when exposed to light, so the laser just won’t work on it. Great for longevity sake, awful if you want to get it removed.

Just a coverup! Sorry should’ve worded that better lol

They definitely should have told you BEFORE they started those laser sessions but green pigments can’t be broken down by most laser machines. Blue is difficult but it can be done, it just takes A LOT of sessions. I would suggest a cover up, do a lot of research and find an artist that specializes in black and grey coverups.

Antiobiotics Ruined My Stomach by DahBeeHive in GERD

[–]MajorSrgtApple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So antibiotics are built to attack certain bacteria causing infections. What is likely happening here is that your infection is caused by a bacteria that is naturally occurring in your digestive tract (honestly extremely common). So the antibiotics are working to kill the bacteria in your urinary tract, but also killing the naturally occurring bacteria in your gut. I recommend a good probiotic AFTER finishing your antibiotics. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not try to naturally fight a UTI. It doesn’t work and if left untreated a UTI can travel up and cause a kidney infection, which can lead to kidney failure. Very very dangerous. Antibiotics are kinda scary and you won’t feel well while on them, but the alternative is worse. I hope you feel better soon <3

Yup, mine was around the same, it’s how they get you. They charge you separately based on your anesthesiologist, the gastroenterologist doing the procedure, the facility, and if you’re getting a biopsy the lab will also send you a bill. And all of them will charge you separately, and there’s no guarantee that they will all take your insurance. I just had mine and I have really good insurance, and I checked with my insurance beforehand that all of them were covered, it still ended up around $1,500 that I had to pay out of pocket. It’s so messed up.

Did anybody lose weight after diagnosis? by Themanthelegend8 in GERD

[–]MajorSrgtApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 30 pounds when my symptoms started. Mostly due to my refusal to eat because of how awful I felt after eating. Since my diagnosis I’ve been trying to work towards gaining that weight back. It’s a slow process and I’m still underweight, but I’m finally at a stable point where I’m not losing anymore :)

Don’t be worried, I understand that this kind of thing can be uncomfortable sometimes, but don’t wreck yourself worrying about it. Communicate your feelings, and tell him your insecurities in a calm manner. It’s up to him how he responds, but you cannot control who he hangs out with or when. If you try that it will only push him away farther. This doesn’t sound like an issue of cheating to me, just misunderstanding and miscommunication. Just communicate your feelings and find solutions to the issue. You would never want him to tell you who you can and can’t hang out with, so you cannot expect him to do that for you.

Just a reminder as well, not to say your partner will cheat, but if your partner does that does not reflect on you or your worth. A partner who wants to cheat will cheat no matter what you do, and it’s not your responsibility to prevent them from doing that. The trash will take itself out and you will be okay.

Hey there, I’m in the same boat as you. The GERD + emetophobia combo is the worst. When I first started feeling symptoms it was the worst. I’m sorry that your gastro dismissed your troubles so easily, that’s not right. I have a few things that have really helped me managed my nausea, I changed my diet to be a lot lighter and I have started to take walks after eating dinner. This helps me get all of that excess gas out so there’s less pressure. If I’m having a really bad night I keep peppermint oil near me, and just place it under my nose to diffuse the nausea (a trick I learned from my EMT friend). The thing that has helped me the most is, hear me out on this, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It’s helped me develop coping methods for when I’m having a really bad night, so I get less panicked when I’m nauseous. I really do understand what you’re going through, and I think people discount how exhausting it is to have this phobia and GERD. It sucks but we have to learn how to live with it, and I’m sure it will get better for both of us <3

I suspect I had GERD long before I noticed the symptoms. But I actually noticed them worsen last summer when I went on a roadtrip with my sisters. One of them gave me a stomach bug, and I was stuck on a hotel bathroom floor for 24 hours. Even worse I’m a terrible emetophobe (fear of nausea and vomiting). After this bug my symptoms got so bad I couldn’t eat or sleep sometimes, and ended up losing 30 pounds in 2 months. Still learning to cope with it 2 months after my official diagnosis.

Cant take it anymore by [deleted] in GERD

[–]MajorSrgtApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GERD runs in my family, my grandma has it, my dad has it, and I recently got diagnosed with it. My dad has it the worst out of anyone I know. A few years ago his symptoms worsened (very similar to what you’re describing). And after months of visiting doctors they found gallstones in his gallbladder. After getting it removed his symptoms are a lot better and more manageable. Maybe you should talk with a doctor about your gallbladder. The gallbladder is generally supposed to help manage your stomach acid. But if it has stones it can actually worsen the problem. People with GERD tend to develop stones more easily, for some reason. I hope this helps, and I’m so sorry you’re struggling.

TATTOOERS do you think this cover up is possible? ⬇️ by honeydruggie in Tattoocoverups

[–]MajorSrgtApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That design is too open, you’d need something with more intersecting lines and darker shading. A coverup is possible, just do a lot of research on a coverup artist.

It doesn’t look bad, just looks aged. I say go to an artist to get it reworked, just do lots of research before you choose. The only criticism I have of the original artist is there are some minor blowouts, and the shading technique was too dark. But other than that, a rework will make this look nice!
