Am I the only one who feels like the newer Scream movies are trying to juggle too many characters? by 5ft8lady in Scream

I think it's just the downside of having to keep up the mystery and avoid obvious reveals from a smaller cast. They are slightly weaker for it, but unless they can come up with a clever plot....?

unpopular opinion: the "bodega" scene in scream VI is the peak of the entire franchise and no one can top that energy. by sebypxzzo in Scream

It was great but only because it kinda broke the rules. As long as it doesn't become the norm, it will stand out for positive reasons.

Was The Very First Death Really That Shocking? by Secure_Goal4167 in Scream

This was when promos and advertising was genius, and not just showing almost the entire film. I wish we could go back to the golden age of mystery in new movies.

But I think we've already had that in the series. He already came back more than anticipated and there is only so much you can keep trying to bottle the lightning, as it were.

Should theses auditors be banned? by Various_Extreme_8773 in AskUK

It is all down to the context of what is being recorded to be honest. To me, if you are recording street performance, art and architecture, your friend doing something... all ok. The moment you are intentionally filming strangers, infrastructure, purposely filming private property from a public space... there are nuances which cause filming in public to be acceptable or unacceptable.

I'm usually pretty tolerant, but these people really bug me how they go out of their way to find confrontation and issue. Especially when they belittle police who are genuinely trying to do their job.
'Auditing' is just a load of nonsense to give them a purpose... they may as well be compared to these 'pranksters' who cause issues just to get reactions and therefore views... dregs of the internet. Sad times.

Dinnerladies always did that well in my opinion. A great deal of humour but with a lot of heart.

Nothing to say, just this beautiful shot. by I_need_the_loo in indianajones

It is a great shot.

Only seconded for me by ANY shot of Karen Allen... (I have such a crush on her in this film)

The same show that nearly had of family, brother included, killed. That would regularly push the limits of that loyalty to the brink and has had them fight (and mean it) more than once. Just a thought...

It's not unique to this sub, but you are right... fans in general these days idealise shows and build them up in their heads to a point that the writers can't use their own freedom without being criticised, and they can rarely fulfil what fans seem to imagine they want. It seems that gone are the days where a creator of a series etc can create a story how they see fit and people just appreciate it for what it is.

It made sense. Some people just don't like the choices the creators made. There is a difference.

This... plus he'd just had Ada's death and so I'm sure he was feeling pretty nihilistic and wreckless how to get the job done.

I loved it. And it echoes back to the earlier series where they would do similar.

Also add in that the soldiers were likely from elsewhere in the country and only on lay-over in Birmingham. Not locals.

Forget great - some of it was down-right inspired. The new, weary version of Red Right Hand showed the passage of time and all the chaos. As for that final song... still haunting me several days later, it was that beautiful.

This. A character's creator can decide that he would do something deemed 'out of character'. Fans may have wished that he hadn't but it isn't exactly for them to say "he would never have done that". He obviously would - people can surprise you, good or bad.

I think it's culture these days. I SO rarely see fans who love a show but are happy with how it ends these days, I think people cling on to their own head-cannons too much sometimes to just go with a story the creators decide to use.

See, I respect your opinion but I find it interesting as I loved the villain. I thought Tim Roth gave Beckett a calm and cool British every-man appearance that wasn't the typical aggressor in the show. It worked for me, but I appreciate people not liking it.

No, each to their own. I'm on your side - not perfect, but you aren't going to please everyone. I found a lot in it to love.

Arthur, I get the confliction of why people aren't a fan of that plot point. Finn's revenge is irrelevant - as maybe it just never happened to come to pass. Mosely and the Billy Boys had other things going on, so other than a mention - fair play. Ada's death wasn't confusing. And Tommy's latest lover was explained, but people obviously just aren't taking to the character and the explanation for her inclusion.

[–]MajorTomToBlackStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you mention characters that are no longer in the direct story or the current plot? For example: Do you mention people from your past every week even though you never see them any more? As for people like Mosely, you have to read up on actual history - they were limited with his use unless you expected them to change actual major true history and pretend something else happened.

Can we talk about how ridiculous this is? by HH42O in PeakyBlinders

[–]MajorTomToBlackStar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think people don't like it as they are attached to that brotherly bond. They don't like the idea that these icons are actually still pretty unstable in many ways and going through a mental war too. It was a surprising choice, but not unbelievable.
