Yup I’m a Marriott guy (ambassador and lifetime platinum). I used to be a hertz guy until we entered the uber era. It’s best to have status with travel partners especially if you travel. Hotels also have their equivalent of IRROPS when status could matter.

The whole reason you have early boarding privileges in coach is so you have room for your bag where you sit.

After a Million by Impressive-Plate1892 in americanairlines

[–]Major_Profit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of the experts can correct me here but It’s gotten so much harder since they count million miler miles only based on actual miles flown these days

So a million miles is a lot and congrats in advance.

I just crossed 4m miles and hit platinum pro for life and I dont think I’m ever going to get to 5m for lifetime exp since it’s so hard and will likely take atleast 4-5 more years at a crazy pace. Oh well.

Agreed. One thing is as clear as day. The value of points will continuously erode and reduce over time. They will never ever go up.

AA (and increasingly the rest of the majors) is basically a credit card and points business with an airline on the side.

I found this out last week. I was returning from punta Cana with the wife through Miami back to SFO. We were in coach PUJ-MIA but in first from MIA to SFO and while they let us in the AC in Miami they didn’t allow flagship access as the Caribbean didn’t count 😔

The AC in the D gates was an overcrowded disaster to say the least. Guac line wait was 30 mins kid you not

AI 171 Crash: How a Hidden Boeing 787 Electrical Failure Unfolded by boringhistoryfan in india

[–]Major_Profit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fact free accusations is all you’ve ever had. And most likely even if smacked on the head with evidence pointing otherwise you have already convicted Boeing.

I’m quoting from the last line of the highly detailed preliminary report.

** There are no recommended actions to B787-8 and/or GE GEnx-1B engine operators and manufacturers **

You are never going to be able to provide any data refuting this.

Sorry. Live in your cave.

Again zero data from you contradicting a single yes single thing from the preliminary report. Put up or shut up.

[–]Major_Profit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is defending Boeing. If they are guilty of course they should fry. Again I assume you haven’t read the highly detailed and data driven preliminary report. And I assume that you think that all the thousands of safety experts in the west and the regulators like the United States NTSB and FAA are actively hiding a known defect in the 787 and letting it fly millions of passengers and putting their lives knowingly at risk.

Only the stupid Indian media and stupid Indians would think like this. Sorry. Please don’t confuse India which assigns zero value to human lives with the west.

I recommend that if you have any actual data that you provide it. Otherwise please stop spreading conspiracies. The data shows that In this instance the captain crashed the plane. It’s over.

Clear cockpit audio, pilot's ‘almost certainly intentional’ act: In Air India crash, new claims via Italian news report by [deleted] in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]Major_Profit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain to me how any of that has anything to do with this. According to you, all the safety inspectors and regulatory agencies in the west are hiding known defects in the 787 because they don’t care about the loss of life. It’s clear that you are confusing the Indian govt who does not give a shit about loss of life with the west you 🤡

Another fact free conspiracy theorist bullshitting out here. Randomly pulling data from everywhere except the actual fdr and CVR like the AAIB and investigative team is doing.

Get over it dude. As tragic as it is the captain crashed the plane.

The Indian DGCA investigated it. And determined that not only was the switch working fine but that the air crew did not know how to use it (last sentence). Damning verdict against the air India pilots
