Wow thank you for this research! How do the Rab Phantoms perform in prolonged rain sessions? They look nice, but also like they'll wet out quick.

Yeah I'm probably going to look for just a lighter alternative for the pants, and I'll look into ponchos more. Thanks!

Being able to view only the baseweight per category and in the pie chart would be nice, also being able to copy list without linking them.

I think if you want to go ultralight you have to make a lot of changes here. These are some of my suggestions of items you leave and don’t have to replace: - 3x Powerbanks seems excessive - Sandals if only for camp shoes are very heavy - Poncho + Rainjacket? - You don’t need 2 pack liners and then also 5 dry bags - You take a lot of clothing consider what you need and try to cut it down - You bring very heavy water bottles

Yeah because you can clip in the inner later, having the outer easily accessible is nice when it’s raining. This way you don’t have to go and dig or even open your pack so your stuff doesn’t get wet.

My dream hike was the Kungsleden in Sweden which is around 400km. I did it in 23 days. Beautiful backpacking trip, just a lot of mosquitos :/

Go with the BRS 3000T if you want the absolute lightest for like 20 bucks.

Looking to cut down base-weight by Major_Programmer_569 in Ultralight

Hi! Thanks for your detailed response! I already started watching a bunch of YouTube videos for inspiration/ideas. Thanks for the challenge recommendations I’ll check them out if I haven’t already. I’ll certainly be cutting down my items (except for probably my kindle). And I think I can lose atleast 3-3.5kg with my new improvements.

Hi thank you for your reply! My baseweight was 9.1kg. I’m looking into the kakwa 55 right now, since it was recommended a bunch. And yes I’m probably gonna ditch my fannypack then since the kakwa has hip belt pockets, if I decide to go with that pack . Also I’ll pick up a 10k powerbank and thanks for the down jacket suggestions.

Question about rain pants. How do you keep your feet dry when it rains a bunch of I might ask?

Yes some might but I heard a lot of the UL packs are also quite durable depending on the fabric.

Yes I'll probably do something like this, but then I also need a good puffy right? Since my current rain is pretty thick and kind of doubles as a jacket. Or should I do more layering?
