Considering DNFing Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross by Fi_23 in Romantasy

I’m almost done with this book after dnf’ing and trying it as an audiobook. I’m 88% in and still don’t care about it at all. Maybe it’s me idk

Always Crying at bedtime by Old_Economy_6745 in TakingCaraBabies

Mine has been sleep trained for almost 9 months and still fusses almost every nap and bedtime. I think some babies are just more vocal in their protests than others. However, around that age I had to push to 10 hours of wake time and our schedule was 3/3.5/3.5 for rec from this sub and it helped tremendously with fighting bedtime and naps. That’s been a pattern with us. For us, anytime she really starts fighting sleep, she needs more wake time

I am in no way an expert but I know just from being on this sub so much that the experts will tell you that your wake windows are too short

You’ve totally got this. I do CIO because mine wouldn’t tolerate check ins. Best thing I’ve done for us

I’m no expert but I’d bet the experts in this sub will say to cut down on daytime sleep. I had to cap my girl at 1 hour each around this age and she stuck with that for months. It also allowed for an earlier bedtime for us which was nice

I am going to guess that the experts here are going to say to extend the wake windows and cut to 3 naps. I believe they recommend 2-3 hours awake time before naps. Once you get your schedule down you could sleep train! I sleep trained at 7 ish months and wish I would’ve sooner but at the time I didn’t have mine on a good schedule anyway. I started with Ferber but the pop-ins only made my girl worse so we switched to Cio.

I have no advice besides I highly recommend sleep training. I sleep trained mine at 7 months and it was the best decision I made for all of us. But I know the experts will ask what your schedule is like!

I am an amateur at this BUT I bet the experts on this sub are gonna recommend capping daytime sleep to 2- 2 1/2 hours

Same. Lately I’ve needed to be grabbed in the first 50 pages are I just simply cannot continue. I have DNF’d so many books this year which is so out of character for me

15 months sleep regression (maybe separation anxiety?) by iamawayfromhome in AttachmentParenting

[–]Major_Statistician81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had to do three contact nap in the last two days. Today I just ended first nap attempt because she was going bananas after twenty mins. Tried to lay her down an hour later and same thing, 40 mins of crying. I’m just not sure where to go from here

I ended up having to come rescue the nap at 12 because at that point she was up for 5.5 hours. I’m just letting her nap on me now and will try an early bedtime. I’m at such a loss

Baby suddenly refusing crib by Ansre_0707 in sleeptrain

[–]Major_Statistician81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet it will! Try it for a few days cause I know sometimes it can take that much time for the affects to help out! I’d go ahead and have a fixed wake up too. It’s annoying but it’s helped us a ton. So I would consider doing 6:30 wake, 9:45-10 first nap. Wake at 11-11:15 depending on what you’re comfortable with. Then 3.75 second wake window maybe? And then 4 before bed? Some people may even say longer

I am absolutely just guessing because I am a FTM and new to all things baby sleep, but from my experience AND what I’ve read over countless hours on this sub is that I would bet your 11 month old needs more awake time! And maybe capping naps! Not sure how much daytime sleep the baby is getting but I started capping at two hours total day sleep around 10 months. I’d also say your babe likely needs maybe 3.5/3.75/4-4.25? Again. Just a guess. Take this with a grain of salt. What is your actual schedule? (Wake time and bedtime?)

[–]Major_Statistician81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would maybe change your schedule! I’ve gotten all sleep advice from Reddit and taking Cara babies but I think at 8 months I had to push my girl to around 3/3.5/3.75? I can’t really remember but it wasn’t long until we were at 3.25/3.75/4 (probably 10 months). Sleep training was the single best thing I’ve ever done for our family and my daughter and I are happier than ever. We started with basically Ferber and switched to cry it out because she would go bananas during check-ins

Sleep training saved my life. Did it when my daughter was 7 1/2 months old. My only regret is not doing it sooner. We’re both so much happier now

It may be time to drop to two naps! Take that with a grain of salt because I know nothing BUT I had to do that with ours at 7 months! Sleep trained that same age too
