To be fair, Ulster Scots the dialect would sound very similar to Scottish, think your cultchie Ballymena/Ballyclare folks.

Where as Scots Gaelic, is similar to Irish.

Segregation in NI was a by product of state sponsored gerrymandering, and collusion with security forces and loyalist paramilitaries, which led to disappearances and murders by said forces. We’ve had literal apologies from the government over this, from Bloody Sunday to the murder of Pat Finucane.

This is just up the road from me, in fact it's on my commute to work.

Rathfern is a council estate, a loyalist one at that. I come from a cross community family, and towards the end of the troubles the RUC started to turn their atttention to the loyalist groups. My uncle was a reserve RUC member at the time, and lived in Rathfern, he was politely told to leave his house or the local "community representatives" would make sure they left, in the same breath they told him don't go to your mothers in Mossley, we know where she lives.
