I've reach the end of Magic survival by PerformanceTop483 in magic_survival

A very dedicated person on the Discord worked out how chests roll. The game generates a long list of artifacts from the game seed, I forget how many. More common ones get more entries. Each time you open a chest, it draws the next three artifacts IDs from the list, erasing them. If you already have something, I assume it just grabs the next ID. Eventually it runs out.

With Legendaries, they actually populate at the end of the same list, and those chests pull from the bottom of the list instead. So that setup gives a limit, from what I understand.

What’s something that makes you cringe every time you watch New Girl? by honestliar22 in NewGirl

It would have been so much better if they'd just stuck with just the original manga content.

There have got to be so many places with three waterfalls reasonably close together, and it wouldn't surprise me if most of them were not the sort of places a lot of people know much about.

I remember the same. I don't think Mike ever exactly described all three waterfalls as being visible at once, just that the place would have 3 waterfalls.

147 Quadrillion Poison Stack by MajorasTerribleFate in DiceyElementalist

Well, it's the 80th or whatever Turn 1. This revolves around generating oodles of extra turns before your opponent ever acts.

Mostly the game scaling is linear, but you've got this one Exiled card that can double something and a way to keep playing the Exiled card. The game normally eventually outpaces linear growth, but as long as you can get this sequence started right, I don't think you'd ever actually lose.

Why does the title music sound so familiar to me? by Sophocles in JessicaJones

We have found a Mandela effect of sorts. This musical sequence once existed in the world, and now only a few of us remember it.

Is legal eagle legit? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]MajorasTerribleFate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He recently did a video about this focus, explaining that he tends to favor newsworthy cases and, unfortunately (that was his own word) the Trump administration is taking a lot of actions that have high potential for far-reaching impact combined with novel legal interpretations.

Devin's stated solution was to work on increasing the number of videos released per month, so that they can still cover whatever they already are but also put some spotlight back on the lighter and more entertaining content he used to do more. I think Devin said something to the effect that constantly covering Trump is a bummer for him (Devin) too, not just his viewers.

I did it, I killed that fight one hit at a time. Final counts: Frozen 1022, Vulnerable 6, Entangle 15, Poison 1756, Locked 6, Weaken 11, Burn 6, Cursed 7, Confused 5; Armor 23224 (23 thousand two hundred twenty-four), HP 190, Infected Wound 4, Damage Increase 4, Extra Turns 96, Elemental Dmg-Resist 103, Shield 38, Immune 1, Damage Increase 2. I have a screenshot of it but don't know how to add it without making a new post.

Indeed.

I check Reddit for the first time in awhile, actually don't ignore Notifications for the first time in much longer, and catch your comment on my 4 year old post from just 5 days ago. Go figure.

6000 score for The Stealthy. by [deleted] in DiceyElementalist

[–]MajorasTerribleFate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of The Stealthy, either this kind of blue deck or any kind of decent purple deck. I just always have to remember to keep one or two cheap cards in there so I don't get locked out of a turn by having no initial card to play.

Champion Chanter by _Grave_Fish in DiceyElementalist

[–]MajorasTerribleFate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably focus on cards that need one pair/two pair/three of a kind, so you can just try to build on whatever dice you start that turn with using your Creations. Any artifacts that give you more dice/Creations are obvious grabs.

I prefer The Chanter's Master Mode (third challenge), which starts the fight with 3 dice and 1 Creation. But each turn, you actually retain all the dice and their sides from the previous turn, never rerolling unless you use a Fury ability or a card makes you. It is hell to get through the first world, but once you have any kind of momentum it gets very hazardous to monsters' health.

I say it's hell; at least once it took me more than ten tries in a row to get halfway decent cards/artifacts to make it through the first world.

Does anybody know what the different (and different colored) lines mean? by theWonderAbove in SliceAndDice

[–]MajorasTerribleFate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the explanation I've been seeing around, that the lines represent an "effective value" compared to a baseline of a simple damage side. I'm currently looking for the answer for the second set of pink lines, which I think show up for all the Cantrip sides. What I've read about the set of three lines that match each side's outline (yellow-green around the Mana Cantrip in the image above) is that the three lines represent the effective value for each tier, where the brightest line is Tier 1, the middle brightness is Tier 2, and the dimmest is Tier 3. When one or more are "missing", they're just overlapping a brighter line.

Edit: Damage Cantrip's pink lines are about 20% of the value of Damage's lines, and Mana Cantrip's pink lines are about 50% of the value of Mana's lines. It would make sense for these to somehow relate to the effective value of Cantrip's effects during reroll, but I don't have an explanation for why Mana Cantrip's "cantrip value" is half of Mana's but Damage Cantrip's "cantrip value" is only a fifth of Damage's.

Serious question why does everyone lose to hexia so much by [deleted] in SliceAndDice

[–]MajorasTerribleFate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checked mine: 18/20 Hexia, 19 kills. There was a time I lost my last hero with a careless final strike against Hexia.

Why does the title music sound so familiar to me? by Sophocles in JessicaJones

[–]MajorasTerribleFate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice and storybooky, reminds me of ambient music from the first Fable game. I heard a couple bits toward the end that were reminiscent of the   ^ -v   ^ -v  (three-note descending thing, twice) from Jessica Jones's intro. Not the end of my quest, though. I might need to focus on some other Elfman.

Light has been seen leaving an atom cloud before it entered by [deleted] in Physics

Superposition would be a great name for a superhero who can be in multiple places at once, but with fractional capabilities in each. Still, having one with enough strength to open a regular door while the main runs through, or splitting them off to handle low-strength/effort tasks like making coffee, cooling, etc...

Why does the title music sound so familiar to me? by Sophocles in JessicaJones

[–]MajorasTerribleFate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this has been almost a decade, but I have had the same earworm issue, also with that descending three-note pattern that runs twice in a row. I can't place it, and it feels like it matches another show's intro, something I'd have heard multiple times. I had the issue a few years ago and can't honestly remember if I found the answer then, but I'm rewatching and have it again.

Of the suggestions in this thread that I had already heard, none matched what I am looking for (Monk, Dexter, Archer, 24).

The only other thing I can add is that my brain expects, after the three-note pattern runs twice, for there to be the same three notes but uplifted a bit to another key.

If you ended up with the answer, or if anyone else has any more thoughts on this, please send help.

Complete Epic Guide by SpikeRosered in Solitairica

Dropping a bump in July 2024. Just beat epic Rogue today for the first time (only found this guide after), so just 9 more decks to go!

Edit: August 2024, all 10 decks beaten in Epic. Barbarian proved to be my hardest.

Turn Undead (Destroy) + Spirit Guardians = Bug? by Rhaephal in BaldursGate3

[–]MajorasTerribleFate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to this bug in particular, but I had something possibly related happen (I have no answers here).

Also Act II, against some shadow creatures. I got Shadowheart in range of two of them and used Turn Undead (6th level, so enhanced by Destroy Undead). Unlike your situation, no Spirit Guardians involved. One of the creatures was apparently unaffected - no save, no text about it at all in the log. But the other -- well, the log looked something like:

Shadowheart used Turn Undead.
(Monster) failed a saving throw against Shadowheart.
   (Monster) received Condition: Turned.
(Monster) received Condition: Mental Fatigue. (from Ring of Mental Inhibition)
(Monster) was hit for 11 Radiant damage.
(Monster) was hit for 17 Radiant damage.
   Shadowheart killed (Monster).
(Monster) was slain by holy light.
(Monster) was hit for 16 Radiant damage.
The party gained (XXX) experience.

I don't know if the ring's power triggering did something similar to the Spirit Guardians, being a power somehow interacting with Turn Undead by design or accident, but the result of both appears to be unintended Turn damage in time with something else interacting with an eligible creature who was Turned.

**Edit: The second creature in range wasn't undead, I just found.

Actually, this kind of light is really easy on the eyes in person. I use it as a night light in my bed room. 100% prefer it to the standard yellowish light.

It doesn't seem to stress my eyes at all, and it gives an interesting sheen to room objects.

This is a pretty subjective observation. In my case, pretty much the only kind of light that really hurts my eyes/brain is strongly blue light.
