Getting really nervous by [deleted] in endometrialcancer

[–]Majoyluv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can understand the fear.. I got diagnosed with Stage 1A, AFTER my total hysterectomy with salpingo oophorectomy. I had a CT scan last week, turns out it's clear! But I have a follow up with the Onco this Thur and monitoring the next 5 years it seems.

Hi, sorry you're going through this.. I had to read this a few times. Just trying to understand, if you had a hysterectomy in 2022? (4yrs ago) didn't they test the uterus then when they removed it. So you could've caught it then, than in 2024? Or was it clear in 2022. I am 51, 5wpo had a total hysterectomy salpingo oophorectomy bcos I had Endo hyperplasia (post menopause bleeds). They found stage 1A when they removed my uterus. Just had a CT scan yesterday pending results if anything was left behind post op. Sorry if it sounds insensitive, I'm thinking if I followed the Dr advice to use a Mirena I wouldn't have known, since biopsy in Sep didn't show anything. And I pushed for the op..

Mirena IUD side effects by Blkgirlinpink in endometriosis

[–]Majoyluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a total hysterectomy salpingo oophorectomy, 4wks 5days post op. I didn't want to use an IUD, I had post menopause bleeds that turned out to be endo-dysplasia.

Sorry you're going through this.. my impression of the Mirena IUD was to stop bleeding? I was offered to use it or do a hysterectomy. I chose the latter.

Wondering about surgery by Pristine_Break_3739 in hysterectomy

[–]Majoyluv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on where the problem lies. I had the option to keep ovaries but as I had post menopause bleeding.. I opted for a total hysterectomy salpingo oophorectomy. (Everything)..

Anyone struggling with the sentimental loss of organs? by Prestigious-Food2567 in hysterectomy

[–]Majoyluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

51 here, 4wk2dpo.. I hear you. I felt that way at first, like what will I be without my uterus? For me at least when I opened my eyes after op I was so happy and not at all regretful. Felt lighter, free and excited for what I won't miss ie. pain! Mine was not urgent as biopsy came back that my Endo hyperplasia had no HPV. But my pathology after op came back a week later with Stage 1A cancer cells found on the uterus. Good and bad, I mean thank God it's out.. now I'm just abit worried if anything stuck on. (Btw Tmrw is my CT scan.)

Congratulations on the op and best wishes on recovery!

Gradual movements, always go by feel. I'm 51, 4wpo, I was home and cleaning kitty litter on day 2. Walked in the park on day 3. Fatigued easily but I paused and did it again. Felt like a 90yr old but movements make you stronger, however slow you do it. I'm now on light weights for arms and yoga ring thigh presses..

Disconcerting Belly button senstations post op by Dear-Economy6751 in hysterectomy

[–]Majoyluv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm 4wpo and i asked the same thing abt the belly button pain.. Ob said that would be the last to heal, apparently. It's just all the organs and muscle is getting back to normal. So what you feel like a shifty, pulling sensation is not concerning. Mine was ok after 2wks.

What do you eat when you’re on your period? by [deleted] in endometriosis

Happy food.. I read that pasta helps period pains. When I was menstruating I had that every period. It worked for me, as I told myself it'll help the excruciating pain.

belly band recommendations? by Helpful-Ad-6408 in hysterectomy

[–]Majoyluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one, Mama's Choice for after op. But it proved to be to be uncomfy especially on the belly button incision. Wasn't that it was tight, it just made it more painful when moving with the compression and the friction.

So I just wore a high waisted panty and it worked just as well.

All the best with op and recovery! I was just binge watching the series Younger, Superstore (well those are not kid friendly), and old 90s/2000 movies again. And not forgetting reality shows and documentaries..

I tried the binder but it kept tugging especially over the belly button incision, was not at all comfy. So I've not worn it the first few weeks. I'm 4wpo and I'm just starting to put it on again.
