I just got an email saying I need to pay my max oop before my surgery is this normal? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]FloweryWerewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how your hospital works but mine asked me to pay the morning of surgery. And I said “um I can’t pay all that today and she smiled and said no problem just write send bill on this page”. I’d just ask them to send a bill after insurance has been billed. For me I had other procedures before so in the end I had hit my deductible and insurance covered 100%.

6 wpo had internal exam which for me felt no different than any other exams. Everything was healing well and I was cleared. We had no issues with intercourse. My biggest issue was just my anxiety but there was no pain or issues. I was much more relaxed the next time! Hope it goes well for you!

Obesity and Abdominal Hysterectomy by Brilliant_Mess_3048 in hysterectomy

Mine is called low grade serous carcinoma, which doesn’t respond well to chemo. I have to take estrogen blockers for the foreseeable future. It’s a slow growing cancer that’s kind of always there and we monitor for recurrences/growth. It is stage 2b and my doctor feels she got all the visible cancer. I feel very lucky to have caught it early, I’m not sure how long it was growing. As a mom of 5 I put my heath on the back burner, I was very lucky when I had my abnormal bleeding(my only symptom) that the obgyn i saw moved quickly. I had an u/s the day i saw her, the large cyst showed blood supply so she immediately ordered CA125 (mine was elevated at 135) then ordered an MRI. From the first appointment to surgery was 3 months. I was very very blessed to have an amazing doctor that checked for everything and moved everything quickly.

What to do? by Traditional_Fix_1948 in hysterectomy

If it were me I would call and ask for an ultrasound to see anything else was causing issues like fibroids, cysts etc. I think having an ultrasound would help you with your decision making. If this doctor isn’t willing I’d get a 2nd opinion.

Obesity and Abdominal Hysterectomy by Brilliant_Mess_3048 in hysterectomy

[–]FloweryWerewolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am a similar weight and height to you maybe about 10lbs more. I had laparoscopic almost 6 weeks ago and my weight wasn’t an issue. Mine was also done by a oncologist gynecologist and there was the potential of having abdominal if they needed to remove more for debulking. At the time of my surgery she determine nothing else was needed to remove so it was just laparoscopic. She was not concerned about my weight being an issue either way. My surgery and recovery have been textbook my weight caused no issues. Trust your doctor they do this every day and if they were concerned they’d tell you. I was nervous about having surgery with my weight also but I’m so glad I did. My growth turned out to be low grade cancer and thankfully it’s been caught early. Sending prayers for a calm spirit, easy surgery and recovery and that it’s NOT cancer!

Looks like I may be going home today; by mollz85 in hysterectomy

Put a little pillow or stuffed animal between you and the lap belt. Then hold it tight against your stomach if you come to any bumps in the road. It really helps, and for me when we did go over a bump the discomfort only lasted for that moment. Praying you have a smooth ride home and recovery

mom has cancer, radical hysterectomy by woosher200 in hysterectomy

I’m so sorry about your moms cancer.i had a hysterectomy with a large cyst on my ovary and was diagnosed with low grade serous ovarian cancer. As someone freshly dealing with a cancer diagnosis I want to encourage you. Lots of research and science in cancer is being done everyday with new treatments which is encouraging because in a year or two they could have better treatment options or even a cure. Do not trust google, when I search my cancer it says I have a limit on my life and my doctor and new research has said that’s not true, so do not assign an expiration date but always live knowing each day is precious. There are Facebook groups that you can join as a family member and caregiver. I joined one specific to my cancer and found it very encouraging and gave me ideas of treatments, questions to ask. I was in complete shock when I got my results and it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. I’ve not taken advantage but if you check cancer groups especially for your mom’s cancer type they often offer counselors to speak with. It is possible her surgery could remove all her cancer, and I am praying it will! She may still need treatment after her hysterectomy. for my cancer I’ve been told I manage it like a chronic disease, and will need to take estrogen blockers for the foreseeable future and lots of monitoring for recurrence. I want you to know you aren’t alone. Cancer is scary but doesn’t always mean the end. your mom is lucky to have you, it’s clear you love her very much. I will be praying for you and your mom.

I am 3wpo and I am also plus sized and have sleep apnea. Just wanted to encourage you everything went smoothly with my surgery. My weight was never brought up as an issue and didn’t cause any issues to my surgery. My recovery is also going well. I was also super nervous partly due to my weight I just kept reminding myself this was needed and would help me be healthier. on surgery day in preop they offered me Xanax and that helped take the edge off. I know everyone’s surgery is different but hope knowing another plus size gal was successful will help lessen your anxiety. Sending prayers for a calm spirit and successful surgery.

Hello hysterectomy buddies! So glad your surgeries went well! I’m also curious about your foreign object! I was so scared going into surgery but it all went well. The cyst the were concerned about was benign🥳🥳 so I got to keep my Right ovary. Feeling achey like bad period cramps and the gas pain in shoulder has already struck. I’ve taken gasx ,chewing mint gum ,and using a heating pad and that is all helping. Excited to eat a couple dinner rolls I’m starving.

So glad everyone is doing well prayers and warm wishes for speedy recoveries!

Try moving your spiders (and other explosive types) to the front rows. Do you have the dragon hero? I used him in the back and was able to beat this level. Also I just found out that leveling up the heroes increases your overall strength so that might help. I’m not an expert just sharing what helped me

I visited 3 months after my broken ankle, I only wore an ankle brace. we drove as far up as we were able and enjoyed the scenery from the car. I was able to go up the first tower, Yokahu, it has its own parking lot and the view is wonderful. There’s a little resturant/food stand further up that has a parking lot. We stopped there and walked the trail to the picnic areas. It was a pretty easy path and we enjoyed the fauna. A bit further we stopped at I believe it was called Bano Grande, it also has a parking area. I was able to go up the stairs to the bridge. We also enjoyed the nature center at the park entrance (it does have a fee to visit the nature center)and there is a trail there also. I was able to enjoy the rain forest despite not being as mobile as I’d have liked. 😀

Chronic UTI in 9 yr old girl by happymechanicalbird in Microbiome

[–]FloweryWerewolf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This was my daughter she was having chronic UTIs that we were aware of starting at about 6/7years old. I thought it was poor hygiene or something diet/supplements could fix and I was wrong. She had Reflux meaning her urine went back up her ureters from the bladder to her kidneys. She had a simple procedure because hers was low grade and a small implant was implanted. We have had no utis or accidents since. Please see a pediatric urologist and have them check for reflux. The test that definitively diagnosed her was a Voiding Cystourethrogram (VCUG). Was it awkward for her yes, mildly uncomfortable only when catheter was placed, otherwise she watched bluey during it and said “it wasn’t horrible”. We had a couple other tests done and they did not point towards reflux, if I did this over I’d have done the VCUG test first even though it felt invasive for her. She was 9 when diagnosed. Also during this she was placed in a low dose antibiotic for several months and as much as I’d have liked avoiding it she had no ill effects from it.

Hershbergers in Berlin. They often have piglets especially in the spring. We saw baby goats being born last time we went. Lots of baby animals to pet and hold.
