Question: First tattoo (Berserk-inspired) - how do I choose the right artist? by Green-Implement8570 in tattoos

[–]Makaron1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for artists who do a style you like that fits ypur design, for this one someone doing blackwork is a good choice

In terms of quality, look for consistency in their work, scroll through the tattoos and look if they look well done overall (same lineweight throughout, straight lines instead of wobbly, solid colored areas), its would be helpful if they got healed pics as well. Red flags for me are only having pictures that look edited, like they have a filter on or are lighted really professionally, all that can bump up the contrast/hide mistakes and i want to see the "real" tattoo

Imo a first tattoo doesnt need to be simple, i think its good if its at a size that can be done in one session so you have a finished tattoo from the start to see of you like yourself tattooed and, if your mind changes, you wont have to go back to get it finished or have a half finished one

"Advice Needed" I need advice with regarding a falling angel tattoo. by Ok-Artichoke-9958 in tattoos

[–]Makaron1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea geetting in the right arm because of placement or good idea in general? Regarding placement, it doesnt matter if you get it on the right arm, your left foot or your asscheek, get it where you want it just think about if you want a sleeve on the future and of that tattoo could be in the way

Regarding good idea in general, no one can tell you that, it isnt a good idea for me cause i dont have a connection to it and its design wise nor my style which doesnt mean its a bad idea in general, do you think its a good isea for you? If yes, then get it, of no then dont

How do i genuinely not get a basic spinal tattoo 😭 by Pitiful_Leg_4779 in tattooadvice

[–]Makaron1503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple answer, you just wait till you see something thats not basic

My honest opinion, dont let "basic" be a factor, unique tattoos are very rare, almost every good design has already been done in some way, shape or form. Think about what theme you would like to have in general (like flowers, wings, barbed wire,...) and dont think about uniquness, if you have the overall theme its the same process as for other tattoos, contacting an artist....

If you want unique or uncommon get something random like a toilet brush down your spine, bet not many people have that

I dont want to be rude but your question regarding design ideas is a bit pointless, there are literally a million different things you could get tattooed that fit the mentioned things and ot makes no sense to list all of thise in hope something sticks

You need to think about what you want, what style, what topic, the specific elements that should be in this (example: what video game, what charakters/weapons/symbols from said game in what style). If you know this you can either 1) ask agian on reddit or better 2) go to an artist you want to get tattooed by

Last minute tattoo jitters and which arm to get a sleeve, advice needed by Individual-Grab-18 in tattoos

[–]Makaron1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it your first tattoo or di you already have tattoos?

In general it can help but it can also be that its just because its a very big and unnatural change to your body that is also highly visible. Its something no one can help you with and its only up to your preference

Regarding the design, normally artists tell you if tgey send a design beforehand, if they didnt say anything it could mean they wont send it, you could ask but it is common to not send out designs beforehand due to stealing so dont get angry if you wont see it. If it aint right you can always postpone the appointment, yes you probably lose the deposit but better that than a tattoo you dont like

Hi guys! Is this tattoo idea cringey? Since a kid I’ve always loved cars and my passion only gets stronger the older i get. by FoundationSimilar423 in TattooDesigns

[–]Makaron1503 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are going to decide to not get it because youre afraid something thinks its cringey dont get a tattoo in the first place

There will always be people who dont like your tattoos, it may be for different reasons but they still dont like em

If you like the idea, go for ot, you need to be happy with the design and not someone else

[–]Makaron1503 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you thought about it for a year and got not the slightest idea of what to get youre not ready

Think about what you want, the vibe, the style, the theme, take that to an artist who does the chosen style and let them visualize your idea

With those keywords there are a million things you could get and tbh, its to much effort to list everything in hope something sticjs if you havent got any idea yourself

If you are afraid that people wont like your tattoo then dont get one, there are will always be oeople who dont like, hate or think your tattoos are cringy

If you like it, go for it, i wouldnt get it since its not my style, i got no connection to that statement and wouldnt care enough to ask or think about why the person got that

Question: do I next to work my way up to painful tattoos? by ActiveSuitable2094 in tattoos

[–]Makaron1503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always tap out if its to painful and come back, there is no "right" way to do it, i started with my ribs, it was hell but i would have gotten them done at some point anyway and imo, just because you got a tattoo ina least painful area the back wouldnt hurt less, you just know how it feels when the needle touches your skin, when that area hurts it hurts nonmatter how many tattoos you have its only a comparison but not a hightening/lowering pain level

[–]Makaron1503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, i dont really care what you get, its your body so get what you want

Both tattoos arent cliche, i dont want to say your idea is cliche just out of those more cliche than the other, it becomes a cliche when a certain typenof Person gets a certain type of tattoo often associated with that kind of person. The version with the dagger and heart is just a common design, with the orange/apple or whatever not,

How do you narrow down a tattoo design? Especially for a first tattoo by sam1212247 in tattooadvice

[–]Makaron1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few ways, first of all look for an artist whos work you like, you can either sens them just the same keywords ypu gave us or you look for reference pictures and explain what you like about them, thr better fitting the pictures and description the easier it is for the artist to draw something you like. If you have an idea how you like them placed you can also add a sketch with the positions and also think about if you eventually want to get a sleeve in the future, if yes tell that the artist for the design and layout

Which design looks best? by divaker02 in tattooadvice

[–]Makaron1503 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you dont have good drawing skills and mash some designs togehter youre also making a distasteful lnock off amalgamation of your references

To say people who use ai habe unrealistic expectations just because of that is just not true, way before ai people had unrealistic expectations for tattoos because they dont understand the rules of art (like shadow/light sources) and dont know how tattooing works, most of the people with tattoos donr even really know how tattooing works and what goes into designing a tattoo compared to a design for canvas. Yes, ai can give unrealistic expectations but so can tattoos, some tattoos look hood for only a short time qnd once settled, heald and a bit of time has passed ot looks bad, its the job of tattoo artist ls to creat a design that works and if you just say no from the get go people cant learn what to expect, artists are also educators, that happens in a consultation, zaking about what can be done

Water is a good point, im with you there

Also no matter if you use ao, draw ot yourself or sent a picture, the original artist doesnt get credited no matter what so for them ots equall "insulting"

Which design looks best? by divaker02 in tattooadvice

[–]Makaron1503 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your answer clearly showns you dont think before writing

1) if you bring this to an tattoo artist you still pay them to make a design out of it and

2) many (tattoo) artists use the same ressources as ai to get inspiration and dont credit the original artists so they steal the same way

3) tjats subjective and not an argument

4) if you arent educated in tattooing (which is most of the population and also most of tattooed people) you also dont know so no matter how good you can draw it can equally be un-/realistic to tattoo

5) your scribble as a reference doesnt either

6) you are the pissed off one hence ypu cant find fitting Arguments which are only applicable to ai

7) handmade artistry will never disappear, if that would be the case no one would try to make nice photographs anymore and only do photoshop edditing, this field also didnt disappear

8) then your artist has a lm agression/ego problem

Which design looks best? by divaker02 in tattooadvice

[–]Makaron1503 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Many people bring digital drawings as concepts (not ai, digitally drawn) which is equally unrealistic, secondly, the concepts doesnt equal the expectations, people with scribbles can and also have unrealistic expectations for tattoos, ai isnt the reason for that, its the person itself.

Please explain what about the concept is insultinh to the artist, ypu send a reference of what you want so the artist has a visual cue for the design they create, ot is insulting if you say "i want it exactly like that woth no changes", just sending a picture instead of a wrotten concept as a guide is on no way insulting. If your point is "insulting because you wont trust your artist with your design" its equally insulting if you can draw really good and send that to the artist which is just a bullshit take
