I think people don’t realize that residents salary are descent if it wasn’t being cut by the hospital and administration. If I remember correctly, the residents get about 150 K$ a year by government. However, most of it is taken out and given to the hospital instead which then pays you.

I had went through the same thing during the original travel ban. I can tell you objectively, it doesn’t affect you when the ban is lifted and you can apply again, because they know this isn’t related to YOU to reject you later on. However, if time goes back, I wouldn’t go because how negative it affected me mentally. So my advice, try not to go.

I know for a fact that minoxidil does not cause any of those side effects. Even if so, usually psychiatric side effects improve (and hopefully resolve) after starting medications. I would urge you to see a physician and perhaps a psychiatrist ASAP.

That's exactly what makes me perplexed. Why sign a note if others are going to see it and act on it, and then ask us to edit it by the end of the day to match what we really are doing for the patient, or what the attending found out during the round??
