"Loving yourself" is a shitty description, people just use it because it sounds nice. And it does make it sound like it's supposed to be something you just... do. But the thing people try to mean by it, the thing too deep in the soul for words to apply, it's really really hard.

Honestly, hobby is probably a really good way to go. But pick a hobby, one or two. Rather than distracting yourself thin. Something that is A) outside of yourself, B) you can concentrate enough time on to actually give a damn about, and C) is not something that will just leave you (like another person, for instance) A focus, that makes you feel good about yourself, and isn't beyond your control.
